My advice for marriage:

While I agree with the tips as a whole, I do feel a little...misled? by the $21,000 number, considering more than half of it came from the venue making a mistake and offering a very generous compensation— something that I doubt happens that often or at such a large magnitude.

I thought DIY was the way to save too, however, now that we are 8 weeks away and a few failed DIY projects in, we realize that the stress and time are sometimes NOT worth the few pennies saved. In fact, DIYing things does not necessarily mean money saved. I wish I knew that going into this.
