I think the “less than Gamespass” point is still valid for the most part, but I think others may argue that Gamespass has a few key differences (like new games on release). On that note, while not being thrilled with the price hike, I hope Sony will up the service in some regards. Especially since this is not a meager

This is as good of a time as any to quickly rant about how Samurai Warriors 4 is still a whopping $59.99 on the PSN Store. It hasn’t been on sale in I think 2 years or close to it. It’s just baffling to me for a game this going to soon be nine years old. Like nevermind a sale... it should just have a permanent price

$50 for a 13-year-old game is not a great value, when that game is not coming with any upgrades, visual enhancements, QoL improvements, etc. You can buy the game for less than $20 second-hand. So what is $50 really getting you other than the convenience of playing it on a PS4 and presumably faster load times? I mean,

Bring back Midnight Blue, Sony. C’mon now.

What a drag (for them), but I guess it’s to be expected. If the commotion was already brewing before that point, of course it would get more out of hand once it seemed like the free stuff was coming.

So.... did some people actually get PS5s?

Haven’t played it yet as I’m doing a “Summer of Final Fantasy” run starting with the Pixel Remasters (currently on V), followed by FFXIII-2, a re-play of FFXV and trying out the DLC for the first time... THEN I’m gonna play XVI.

I enjoy XII a lot, but I admit the story is not one of the big reasons for that.

I’ve also noticed that in the last like 2+ years, maybe more, there’s just an insane influx of gaming sites that pop up on google, and they are almost all lacking in substantial quality/content, and all just feel like they’re made to get clicks and nothing else. For every gamesradar or neoseeeker or ign, there’s 10

I feel some of the later skills help bring it up to par (slightly), but yeah range is an issue. And while yes, it does not break guard as well as Crossguard or Double-Bladed, the speed of attacks makes it almost neglible. I also relied on parry to an obscene amount though.

Despite the header image, DualSense controllers are not on sale, or at least not now. Perhaps the sale event will be tiered.

Crossguard was fun, but the slowness of it wasn’t working with the style I wanted. I played around quite a bit with all of them, but I found myself really comfortable with Dual Wield. The speed of it and the ability to lay on a flurry of attacks felt great and rewarding in combat.

As a trophy hunter, I’m scared of that MGS2 list. I assume they’ll airlift the same list from the HD Collection version. I did it both on PS3 and on Vita, and those VR missions get really tough.

MGS1 being part of it is an awesome surprise though.

I’m going to stay away from the “why can’t we go back to turn based” topic, mainly because it hasn’t been that way in decades (mainline, non-port/remaster titles anyway), and ever since 2006 when I discovered I loved FFXII. Kudos to those who are still beating that drum.

The woke/censorship stuff is beyond stupid. That said, I do think there’s room for potential objective critique here, as there should be in most things. I’m undecided on her performance, that is, literally just the delivery of the lines. I don’t give a flying fuck about sultry-ness, flirtation, fanservice or anything.

That is definitely more Goku taint than I was expecting to see toda--ever.

In defense of Rocksteady (who have a pretty good track record), I have to imagine some of the design/gameplay decisions--chiefly to make it a Destiny-esque game--came from up on high, aka WB Games. I do not know that for sure, yes, but that feels like the kind of cynical thing a team of execs would be frothing at the

Oh my gaaaaaaaaaahd. Do you mean Rich Evans, famous star of the Ellen Show?

I think it’s a pretty nice QoL update. It reminds me a bit of the “quick gadget” attacks in Batman Arkhamverse’s Freeflow Combat.

The fact that this is a pretty faithful adaptation to the original is exciting. I had been yelling into the ether for years for a remaster of the PSP version, and this is close to a full-on remake while still sticking close to the framework.
