I like the Zelda comparison. People like to call Zelda an RPG series but Nintendo has always categorized it as action-adventure. You don’t juggle stats and experience points. Combat boils down to action oriented puzzles. Arrows have a limited use but can be restocked.

The series never had any random battles besides a few scripted encounters and boss battles. Some battles are just easier to avoid than others.

I assume it is a little of both. The ending of season 3 hinted at a future confrontation with elder gods like Cthulu. Any antagonist after that would be a serious downgrade. The stories were already getting quite absurd, even for a TV show about a teenage witch.

The costume designers did a wonderful job giving all of the characters unique looks that showcased their personalities and made sense within the show.

Dragging it out would’ve led to Riverdale levels of bad writing.

I was more annoyed by how Sabrina never truly learns from her mistakes. She continues to make selfish decisions that always lead to horrible consequences.
