Just so we're clear on ad hominems, saying someone doesn't understand for lack of comprehension is not an assault on their character, similar to how saying someone couldn't make the high jump because they weren't athletic enough is not an assault either. In this case, one follows the other. If I were to say they

Actually, here is where the subtlety comes in. What I said is completely true. I never referenced "Marth of Fire Emblem Awakening" or even the "Marth" that is the figurine. The fact people are correcting something that, with only ONE assumption, is still a completely true statement, shows that the point was missed.

Spoilers are always spoiled. They should never be said without some kind of warning. A rotten egg doesn't magically become palatable after a few months time...

Read the other comments.

Totally understand how people think it was an incorrect-correction. Subtlety and the art of reading is lost on most of the internet it seems :/

Regardless of the perception levels of the audience, the game doesn't acknowledge it until a third of the way through. The presentation and story of Fire Emblem are also one of the most engrossing and enjoyable parts of the game, so far be it from anyone to claim they are above the creative vision of the game creators

Perhaps somewhat valid, but the article itself gave no tells of a spoiler, it was tactless commentators that spill the beans.

No excuse for why it shouldn't though :/ things will be spoiled, because internet. Reading is a lost art.

"Anyone reading your first comment would automatically assume"

Completed Lunatic with no deaths. Raiju just failed to mark his post in a conspicuous spoiler related way like you did :/

Well aware. Raiju just didn't tag his post as a spoiler :/

See my other replies >.<

Tact levels... non-existent! Calling out the fact he is a she is actually spoiling it for people who haven't played it, but it doesn't matter to me, as I've already completed a Lunatic run with no deaths. I was hoping people would be more considerate of those who haven't played.

See my other replies. I am not the one that failed.

I have played and dominated Fire Emblem: Awakening, but some people are just insensitive to SPOILERS and don't take subtle hints like using the word spoil in my initial reply...

Welp, all attempts at subtlety for the consideration of people who may not have played the game are out the window... guess we can all just assume anyone on Kotaku has played the game, except that guy who said he isn't a Fire Emblem fan.

I hate to spoil it for you, but Marth is a male character.

I should clarify, upon reading what I wrote a second time, that when I say "Even in this article" I meant that "Even within the comments section of this article." Sorry if I sounded accusatory towards you Jason, that was not meant to be the case. Just noting that the reporting of this subject brought out haters :/

There are times I read something from Cliff and kinda shake my head slowly while diverting my gaze to the ground wondering how the guy gets taken seriously.

Well all right then. Thanks for highlighting the method to the madness. Submission incoming!
