Haters gonna hate. I don't think there has been any medium that has 100% universal acceptance as a perfect art form... Although, I think this particular case is easy to misunderstand without the appropriate context, just like anything else.

First PlayStation game I ever played was Crash Bandicoot at a technology convention of some sort. I wasn't sold on the machine at the time (and under the age of 10 anyway). It wasn't until my brother had borrowed Final Fantasy 8 and a console from a friend that we were sold on the system and absolutely had to have it.

I'd go so far as to say that even if it WERE meant to be a major feature (via update or whatever), it wouldn't appeal to enough people. It would still require a higher-end gaming PC to do that portion, which significantly limits the target audience that particular feature might appeal to.

Seems this is what they're actually doing. It acts like the sling box did for video, it will allow for video games (just noting the latency between what we see on the PC and what is showing on the shield. Doesn't seem like the shield is connected directly to the PC, rather it is connected through the network). Play

Hence the approach of the "New Challenger" Manchild.

I think that is a pretty good assessment. Only time will really tell what will happen of it, but I still think it would be ridiculous for it to come down to a court ruling. I've played through digital used game sale scenarios in my head and drawn up business models around them, so I could totally see it being done,

Preachin' to the choir buddy, I game everywhere it's good (with too many games in my Steam library to keep up with (due to said reasonable prices you mentioned) and a pile of console games unopened waiting for a rainy day). Although I highly doubt the resale of "used" Steam games is gonna fly. That ruling in Germany

Actually no... His Wii U is still running and providing all the inputs to the Game Pad. This guy made a clever web based workaround and ran a local server on his PC that accepts inputs from said web server, which his Wii U is also connected to.

Hopefully that changes soon >.< But yeah I know your pain. I'm a multi-gaming-gadget kinda guy, so I have my titles I play on my 3DS, and my titles I play on my 3DS XL. My cartridge collection is segregated right now, and I have my downloads on my XL simply because I prefer the screen real estate. Fire Emblem is

Not much different than buying it thru Steam, but I suppose if you don't like Steam either, then duly noted. It would be iffy if it didn't work and if they ever threatened to remove your rights to re-download it as often as you need should your SD break, or 3DS get stolen.

Restarting missions might seem like a problem, but the pacing of battles can be RIDICULOUSLY fast. Pushing Start at just about any time will skip whatever scripted event is occurring, including the entire enemy's turn (the screen goes black for a second, then comes back with all outcomes determined and units in new

Definitely worth being excited over. I'm absolutely loving it.

Especially with a game like Fire Emblem. For me, and a few friends who also play Fire Emblem, the "Best" way involves NOT accepting those permanent deaths, even if you are 200 turns into a battle (which was a regular occurrence for me on maps with an arena).

My friend had never played a Fire Emblem before either... until this one... and he is loving it. The permadeath and difficulty seemed too daunting to him, so he turned it off and plays on normal difficulty.

"And calling it sound reasoning is just re-labeling it as another form of telling the truth"

"Oh, well in that case I don't think he's lying; I just don't have any empathy for doublespeak"

"Except your whole argument is based on taking him at his word. Hell, your very first post was "He actually released an FAQ explaining his method and how the hits don't make a difference to him.""

"Lets see, he follows up Qt3's most successful article by publishing an ego stroking FAQ to fan the flames of the controversy created by the article. But nah, that was just to inform the public and not to get even more hits. Honest."

"(which he then proceeded to milk for hits and attention)"

"I provided actual evidence of his scores being lower than almost every other reviewer"
