I think something to do with being a bit younger and daring helps too, not to mention smaller budgets. Recent examples being Dredd and District 9, medium budget films better than Avatar and Prometheus. These days it seems only Nolan can handle a huge budget and still deliver a good story and characters. At least

It's a bit morbid, but I was watching a Connery movie the other day, and this part of me thought, 'well, it probably won't be long now before you wake up one day to a sad headline.'

It's always sad when it happens. What's worse is when it happens to someone still relatively young. I'm still finding it hard to take that Iain M. Banks is gone, for example.

I really want Culture drug glands. Actually I want everything a biological member of The Culture can come to expect. Unlikely, yes, but I can dream.

Yeah, there's something to that. It's almost like that line from Bladerunner: "The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long." I'm still thank full for those original flashes of brilliance. It was insane how hyped I was for Prometheus, and I remember leaving the theater feeling just feeling sad.

Kathryn Bigelow is great, and I just want to see more films from her.

I love The Rock. that's about it though.

I agree. I still have a lot of love for Scott and Cameron, and while they have made some films I care less for, I think their greats far outweigh their negatives.

Fearless is great, as are all his films. I still haven't seen The Way Back, but will soon.

I agree utterly. I was never into the bow tie, at all, and no matter how many times he said it was cool, I just sat there sadly shaking my head thinking, "no man, it really isn't." The less said about the fez the better. A modern-ish take on a Bohemian look might be work nicely.

Could you survive the end of the universe? Hell, this guy went and hid there!

Agreed. I try to ignore politics as much as possible, save for voting time. I just find them to mostly be self important manipulative liars. I'm weary of people who seek out power over others.

Glad to see Dr Who series 7 coming out as one set. Having to buy them split up would be annoying.

One of these should be suitable for my Lair of Dastardly Villainy.

No need to apologize, I know exactly what you mean :-)

Grows up dodging HK's in a post apocalyptic hell zone. In a flesh back we see (who is presumed to be) a lover get wasted, and he looks more weary than sad at this. Volunteers to go back in time based on the love he feels for a woman in a faded photograph. Ends up fathering the man who sends him back in time to his

You make some good points. Like many people, I'm eagerly looking forward to GTAV, but I'm also bracing myself for the inevitable 'news reports' on the myriad evils of this game, how it encourages violence, etc, etc.

Bathroom breaks and food breaks for GTAV? No way! I've already ordered a set of adult diapers and an IV drip ;-)

Sadly some people are vapidly unaware of the inherent hypocrisy of their own statements, like this coach here. I guess it's kind of ironic.

"This'll take care of them pesky bike couriers!"
