Any idea how well Oblivion did? I rather enjoyed that movie, to my surprise.

GTA has always had a great mix of stellar music, it's great to her it's still going to be going strong!

I agreed because I thought you made some good points. I'm alright with what you might call reasonable F2P practices. What gets my gall is the outright gouging of some of the other models out there.

Exactly. My real beef is with the way certain FTP models work, often with mobile games. From what I saw they seem to be designed as never ending money pits. I don't think excess gambling is a good idea either, and one of my fears is that the relative ease of in-game purchases ties in to the same kind of compulsion

No apology necessary! I should have been more specific in my original post, so really I should be the one apologizing.

I didn't mean to come across as dickish, and I realized I didn't explain myself too well in my post. I guess, like you say, value is in the eye of the beholder. My dim view is really geared towards the folks who come up with the business models of FTP games, and how it seems to be designed to keep people paying for

I shouldn't post things before having my first coffee ;-) I don't think I explained myself too well. I find that there is something very exploitative about the whole freemium game model, and I guess my dim view is really reflective of the kind of thinking that goes into developing these games. Many of them are

It's all good!

I don't know if you're being sarcastic in a knowing way or not, but seeing as I cannot prove my story, I'll just kindly ask you to take my word on it :-)

Well, he does have a time machine ;-)

I always liked the green double breasted coat he wore in the later half of series six, and wish we'd seen more of it. I'm not really digging the series 7.2 outfit; it feels like too much of a uniform. And I have to say, I never really liked the whole bow tie thing (ducks from thrown vegetables).

I first came across the term 'Whale' while working in the industry. One of my responsibility's was to read user reviews and summarize what people were saying about the game, and report any issues users described. Most of the games we monitored were freemium types, and I naively exclaimed to my boss one day my lack of

There's nothing unnatural about his age (from his species point of view), and the parking brake thing is just some bullshit gag The Moff came up with for a cheap laugh (not to go on about the classic series, but plenty of other TARDIS's besides the Doctors were feature, and they all made that sound).

I loved and lived this film so much, on so many levels. Wright, Pegg and Frost seemed to have made a movie capturing the essence of what my own friends and I went through in the nineties, and what we're like now. I related to Gary on quite a few levels (some rather uncomfortably); while not at his level, I've

I'm seeing this tonight. Then I might go to a pub ;)

I have nothing but respect for good editors. I might have a ton of ideas, but forging them into something that works is no mean feat.

Hmm, I'll have to have a look for that.

...meets 28 Day Later meets Escape from New York. It's brilliant.

Elysium was great, IMO. It's a fun, gritty Sf action movie, and it looks gorgeous, and features some cool tech. It doesn't hold up to too intense scrutiny, and don't expect District 10 (to quote Charlie-Jane), but it's one of the funnest movies I saw this summer.

You're very welcome :-)
