Is 50.4mpg and 40.9mpg real economy, or those strange numbers we were using earlier that have even less to do with reality than our current system? If so, what does that translate to in real terms?

Oh, I agree, its a paradigm that has its uses, and it will be helpful to some. That said, our improving communication technologies are eating away at the advantages of clustering in very dense environments. I expect the citification trend to start slowing down, and even reversing over time, as cities become more

They are not worried about someone seeing them in their underwear, they are worried about someone from a law enforcement agency seeing them smoke a bowl in their home (in their underwear).

The inherent wastefulness of individually owned cars is a great deal less wasteful in less dense environments.

To confuse the crap out of the blog commenters out there.

To measure the pitch of the propeller, position an automobile forward and to the right of the airplane...

I remember reading about a Honda research motorcycle that would deactivate from 4 cylinders to 3,2,1. Running on 1 cylinder did produce significant efficiency gains, but it wasn’t at all smooth.

That is why cylinder deactivation does anything. After all, its not cutting down on the friction.

When this very same thought occurred to me, I decided to do some digging. What I found was that its really hard to suck air thru a partially closed throttle plate.

I see what looks like several castings, which makes me wonder how he made those. Also, what did he do about spark plugs? It’s hard to make a miniature version of those.

Fire. Fire happens

Why not have genocide!

No basements in this part of the country. Right now they are taking up a sizable chunk of the living room, which earns me angry glares from the wife

Probably, but why would we?

Nooooo! Don't do it!

Sure you could. Just have a tall building where the rich live on the top in luxury, while the poor are in the bottom in squalor. You could have the rich literally sh*t on the poor if you thought that was being too subtle.

Would the farts shoot down the tubes?

I didn’t understand what was the point of the train. Couldn’t they use the same power station to just heat up a building?
