Not likely to sell many in rural areas either.
Not likely to sell many in rural areas either.
30% seems low but not THAT low. At least from a US centric perspective, we will never get EVs to proliferate into urban markets because there simply won’t be a good charging solution for folks without garages/driveways. Maybe apartment complexes will start to adopt EV charging if they have dedicated parking spots, but …
The Mirai (currently on sale, or lease rather) packs 5.65 kg of hydrogen. That, in energy, is equivalent to 15.4 gallons of gasoline. When Motortrend last tested the Mirai, it had 331 miles of range, real world tested.
Reverse:
Lots of issues with this and I’m surprised you didn’t really point them out at all. Did they take into account the number of people in each position that responded? It doesn’t look like it. I would put good money on betting at least 90% of respondents are in positions where they had time during the work day to…
“Women polled were skewed much higher toward “administration” positions”
The discrepancy you noticed actually makes up most of the pay gap elsewhere too (note: not the whole pay gap, there are other unfortunate things that lead to women making less and I don’t want to imply otherwise). The “70c on the dollar thing” is largely explained by womens’ career choices, choosing to be a…
I wonder what percentage of cars salespeople are women. I can’t remember the last time I saw a female salesperson at a dealership.
It is obviously a serious skewed sample. No, 85% of staff at a dealership is NOT management and owners, get a grip. Most likely they mailed the surveys out, and guess who gets the mail? Hint - it’s not the guy at the parts counter making $20/hr.
I was going to say the same, I think there might be some selection bias in the sample. Particularly among men, I could easily believe a trend where the guys who make more are more proud and more likely to opt into the survey and the entry level guys might be less willing to disclose. Meanwhile women generally aren’t…
Automotive News polled over 1,000 dealership employees, of which 85 percent were men and 13 percent were women. The survey showed that 82 percent of men polled were in manager/owner positions, while just 56 percent of women polled were in that category
China has tons of affordable EVs, way more than Europe and the U.S., including ones under $25k. This is a flagship luxury car, so of course it’s going to be expensive.
How do you propose to bring down the price of a new vehicle? Everything about producing a vehicle has gotten significantly more expensive in the last 10 years. More required features (tech) and higher cost of labor (25% raises yay) won’t bring down the cost.
Something like the Working Families Tax Credit that was just signed into law?
1st gear:
No shit. Seems like both automakers and dealers decided that the artificially inflated prices caused by the pandemic should remain permanent. And they do so at their own peril since as articles here indicate that people are simply keeping their cars longer as a result. I make a 6-figure income but I scoff at…
“They may be betting on the failure of EVs, but that’s a bet against an entire industry and its regulatory apparatus. Not a bet I’d make”
It’s just a shell, no different than any other car. Only reason they would sell in the 6 figure range is because they wanted to. A 6 cylinder (preferably I6) hybrid would probably make a bit more sense for the design. Just tone down the aero parts and I don’t see why they couldn’t compete with the Supra/Z.
This doesn’t need to be a good car as long as it looks as close to the concept as possible.
Everything about this car is what Elon wishes the Cybertruck was
Toyota is looking wiser by the day.
