No, the GS-R is along the lines of what Acura eventually started calling the “Type-S” models. Higher performance, but also fully-loaded, option-wise.
This car is almost 30 years newer than the 4th-gen Integra that I’m comparing it to. With that age and technology gap, I think it’s pretty fair to compare it to the mid-range model, considering that it’s unlikely that this one will get three performance “tiers” (RS, GS-R, and Type-R), like the old one did, anyway.
Because this car is almost 30 years newer?
Unless this thing somehow weighs 2700 lbs, which I highly doubt, it has a worse power-to-weight ratio than a 90's Integra GS-R. What a complete and utter embarrassment to the nameplate.
I can’t help but feel like they should’ve waited longer to unveil the game. What they showed looked ROUGH; while I appreciate that they tried to show the actual game instead of just a CGI trailer, it that’s what’s they actually expect the visual quality of the game to be.... just, ouch.
Especially when you look at it…
I’m genuinely impressed that H-D not only managed to engineer a DOHC engine with coil-on-plug ignition, modern fuel injection, and variable valve timing, but also somehow managed to slip it past the marketing department that has been trying to push the “old school cool” image for so long.
You should probably take your own advice.
You misread. He said the X5 and Q7.
What’s actually most impressive about modern OEM turbo engines is how they can make that much power while still meeting emissions and fuel economy standards.
No, I’m pretty sure he got it right. Modern engines run pretty lean under light loads, so I’m guessing that there’s actually not a sufficient-enough charge in the pre-chamber for the flame jets to produce stable combustion. The flame front would actually probably die out before it even made its way out of the…
Those are actually the actuators for the hydraulic phasers in the VVT system. They’re on the back because the timing chain is in the rear, which I think was actually done en-masse by the Germans first. It does wonders for packaging, but yeah, they’re can be a pain in the ass to work on.
Whelp, I guess RAM officially makes the only attractive pickup on the market now. This is such a huge downgrade in appearance from the previous F-150.
Yeah, I used to moderately enjoy some of his content, until he bolted chunks of steel box section on to the front of a Lotus Evora. I stopped watching after that; his cars are going to kill or seriously injure somebody someday. A front-end collision in that Evora will probably result in an amputed leg...
It’s more likely that he got in trouble for using the “Eleanor” name, which is trademarked.
Those air intakes in the rear quarter panels scream “mid-engined” to me, so I doubt they could effectively package an inline-6 back there. My money would be on an updated version of the 90° V6 that goes into the Alfa Quadrifoglios.
Half the reason I like the GR Yaris is because it’s a proper 2-door hatch. Whatever “hot” Corolla we get is guaranteed to be a 4-door, which instantly kills my hype levels.

In my admittedly-uneducated opinion, unless these arrive in dealers at an MSRP of $10k or less, they are DOA. Other than the obvious issues with brand image, I feel like HD’s biggest issue is that everything they make is so damn expensive, and anything on the cheaper end of their lineup is crap AND still too expensive.
