It's possible to have pretty decent self-esteem yet also be depressed. I'm currently rocking that look, and you'd think those two things would be mutually exclusive, but they're not. Brains are weird.

Wow, that's a heck of a leap.

Let those among us without an image of a lady inserting a plane into her vagina copied to our clipboard throw the first stone.

Better question: Why is it only males? 6 students dead and they're all male doesn't strike anyone else as kind of odd? Why are men significantly more likely to commit suicide than their female counterparts?

It would be very hurtful to the families if you assumed they were more concerned about a perfect child than the mental health of said child. We can't know to what extent their families were trying to help.

Jesus, nobody is saying that having "big mama" written on your order is nice but suing Subway because of it?? You know the saying "only in America"? This, right there, would only happen in America, you can be sure of it. In other countries, people would just shrug it off and go on with their lives because they're not

Does this qualify as victim blaming? I feel like if the genders were reversed, you would have been like 'Oh no. How dare that MAN force-feed that poor woman 'til he permanently destroyed her image. What a crazy MAN. He should immediately pay up. Snoopy's dumb, and for kids. And he should be locked up for abusing her

Look, if a company wants to sell "GMO Free" food, they're free to label their food that way, and there should be regulations to back it up. But labeling all of the food that contains GMOs, when there is NO evidence that GMOs are at all harmful? That's ridiculous and fear mongering.

Go ahead and let fancy "health food" companies pay to certify their food to be GMO-free and label it. But don't punish companies by making them label food to contain GMOs when there is no scientific evidence to prove it's worse for you.

The problem with calling this "states rights" is that, if even one decent sized state does it, they all have to. Kellogg's can't make special GMO labeled boxes just for California and Washington, it's not really feasible. So if they're forced to label them in those two states, their only real option is to label all

yes, last thing she remembers is kissing kaepernick and undressing, then him leaving the room. After which the other two gentlemen looked into the room, she told them to get out, and they did. Next thing she knows she wakes up in a hospital.

That picture certainly does give more of a 'violent thugs/possible rapists' air to an article about an incident with no current evidence of assault (as released to the media) than, say, this one

From the report, there was no sex while she was awake. When she told the guys to get out, they left. Obviously, somebody drove her to the hospital, she didn't just teleport there. Maybe they couldn't wake her up because of what she smoked? If there was some kind of sexual assault while she was knocked out, it

Huh. I definitely did not get the feelings that you did from this. I mean, yes, Dove (like any company) is trying to improve its public image and does not really care (and, shocker, wants you to buy their products), but I got a good vibe from the commercial. I got the message that women do not need anything external

The net result is that women feel better about themselves. To me, that's not a bad thing.

Carl Sagan once said, "Pseudoscience is embraced, it might be argued, in exact proportion as real science is misunderstood."

Sooooo.... nothing will happen and astrology will once again prove itself to be bullshit? I mean that's just my prediction I guess

So why is everyone acting like this will be the worst month ever? Because of some pseudo-science ancient bullshit? (Yes, I'll probably get shit from a few people, but astrology is as debunked as it gets.)

I was going to go into the correlation/causation confusion, self-reporting, and selection bias, but I got distracted by the cross-sectional survey study and wild jump to an unsupported conclusion.

This is a measurement, not a conclusion! Many people adopt a vegetarian diet because they want to feel better, i.e. they already have a health problem. And it's no secret that some people handle vegetarianism very badly (substituting meat with cheese, or eating the same diet minus the meat, or eating stuff that either
