Not true. Too many primary care doctors are quick draws with that RX pad - it's all antibiotics, antidepressants, and pain medication or nothing. It's a lazy 'get them out the door quickly' approach to medicine. I'm suffering the side effects of taking Cipro because of a drug happy medical group.

I'm tired of hearing

I found this to be a very good discussion of Montgomery's sexuality and the acceptance of platonic "crushes" between girls at that time. My own great grandmother - who was about Anne's age (if a little older) probably - assumed that I held hands and kissed my "chums" and that those close female friendships were very

I think you're still focusing on achievements, and I don't think Mark was. I learned not to stress when I started to enjoy the process and uninvest in outcomes. The process isn't about achievement. It's the beauty of the simple act of doing things, whether it's making healthy food, learning something new, being

I skimmed through the comments hoping for a post like yours to see what it did with an actual photo. Your post was hilarious, but I knew you were disappointed. I keep looking for the magic tool as well, but it always comes back to Fireworks and Photoshop for me. And that means juggling project hours.

Ha! Exactly. Any background remover will work reasonably well as long as the object was already photographed on a plain background. Even in the example at the top of the article, I can see that the pin is missing edges so the "burned" image lacks definition. Look at the difference in the sword. Which would you want to

As an adult, you might find it interesting because there aren't any likeable characters. I read it a few years ago for a book club and forced myself to finish it. I was glad I did. The book could be subtitled "A narcissist and a psychopath fall in love: a clinical perspective through fiction."

I give my dogs 1 garlic clove a day during the spring, summer and fall to help with ticks and other parasites. Both garlic and onions have an ingredient (something-sulfide) that can be dangerous but garlic contains only a very small amount. There are big debates about this. But, some people believe their dogs live

I've heard the short phrase "to compare is to despair" many times, but I like the longer quotes better. Thank you for the reminder to be grateful instead of petty and resentful. :)

That's how I do it, too. I still tip for bad service because...

I went through a smelly feet summer. I must have picked up some bacteria up going barefoot. I ended up throwing the shoes away, but the alcohol wipe on the feet solved the problem. I did it a few days in a row, just to be sure.

I went through my book shelf last year and it felt great. My favorites were no long lost among the "meh" books and the library got a nice donation. I also regularly put single-reads (beach books, romances, pure escapism) in garage sales. It's fun to actually see the person buying them and know they're going to enjoy

There are some great designs from the past. You shouldn't have to apologize because you love the look of an antique sideboard, the soft draping effect of Edwardian dresses, or even how you look in a fedora. If I had my way, no one would be called out just because they liked to wear a particular style.

Yeah, well, not to talk bad about Marie Weinberg, but she was his second wife. He had a wife and 3 kids when he had an affair with her. Marie's story is that familiar scenario where the mistress replaces the wife, only to be naively heartbroken when she realizes that this wasn't a love-conquers-all affair of the heart

I know it doesn't help the family, but Jennifer Lawrence's character wasn't based on Marie Weinberg any more than Amy Adams was based on Evelyn Knight. You can attempt to match all of them with real life counterparts, but they don't match up other than the bad weave and British accent. The movie characters are much

And stalkers. Don't forget stalkers. Dangerous exes, creepy acquaintances, whoever. I'm glad it's illegal.

Soak a paper towel in vinegar and secure it to the corners. The paper towel trick also works for the sides of of a tub and for faucet ends.

Do you think he meant "at a time"? He did write "little and often".

Oops. Was in a hurry. Subscribed, not described. ;)

@RleaBlyue, that's completely right in my opinion. I do the same. I watch A Room with a View a million times because I was in love with the Edwardian fashion. I used to describe to Victoria magazine, which is no longer printed (or did they bring it back? - pic below). I feel that way about some early 20th century

I love that, too. I mostly envy the simple elegance of the design and how comfortable they look. Speaking of side-eye, I would love to have medieval surcoat come back in fashion. The contrast of a loose sleeveless dress over a tight fitting gown is seriously sexy - like the sari - but comfortable.
