The other side of this is that triggers are personal. Not everyone is going to be phased by one thing, whereas a group could be phased by it without knowing it's coming. If we start putting trigger warnings on things, you're basically asking for every book/movie/journal to be labeled as something.

"Trigger warnings allow people to elect whether they do watch/read/consume/etc." But being at a university is not really like being at the movie theater or the supermarket. The consumption-based model of education is a terrible idea.

That is one of the most obnoxious inventions I've ever read of. I get that there are pervs and creeps in the world, but why should this person get more body space in public that anyone else? I'd stick tacks in her dress to deflate it if unlucky enough to be shoved aside by this princess.

But the note I got about the free moustache rides after prom was real, right?

Apparently the "prankster" never gave a second thought to how a young, vulnerable girl would feel thinking her future rested on being forced to submit to something as deeply invasive and private as a vaginal exam. See, because it's funny when gullible, naive people fall for horrifying things and then get freaked out

I dunno, the fact that anyone would be all "YAAAAY" about this is pretty scary. I know that there are some outlier 17-year-olds who would be great in government, but the fact is that 17 is definitely too fucking young.

What would be more effective, if the end goal is to shame Columbia for its failure to respond, is to publicly chasten and embarrass the school and administrators. Do it through the traditional media, blog posts, twitter, tumblr, whatever. And instead of just making a statement about Columbia's inaction, make a

ROFLMAO. The Zapruder film was a lot clearer than this shit tho' and that was 50 years ago. C'mon people. We should at LEAST be able to read lips in some HD from security cam footage, it's 2014.

do they get paid $5 for every $4 a girl would get?

Haha no... but the police don't really give a shit about what's legal or illegal, they care about what they can charge you with. Which is anything they fucking want.

While black yes. It's illegal to be black actually.

There's some irony in that Lorde item leading the daily gossip column, right?

Yellow totally means pee. Lil Cowkid's gotta learn someday. Choose the less gross colors and/or insist that yellow means sunshine. Expert level backup advice: If you absolutely insist on choosing pee-colored game pieces, find a gross association for every color and have it locked and loaded in the event of

From the information given on this article, this girl sounds like she's the bully to me...

Openly admitting to wanting to fuck a horse is pretty brave.

As someone forever on the outside looking in:

I would assume that: (i) they are in need of funds, and; (ii) are willing to perform morally questionable acts in order divest said funds from people with larger problems. But, I'm a lawyer, so I couldn't *possibly* relate.

No. "Separate But Equal" is not the solution here. Women shouldn't be discouraged from pursuing their educational goals at the school most suited to their interests simply because they'll be sharing a campus with male students. This isn't about what female students can do to avoid rape, or how parents can protect

Yeah, teaching us all to avoid men at all costs and to be afraid of them at all times will certainly bode well for the young women we wish to educate and put out into the world to make a difference.

Lemme tell you, a shit storm is coming. A mighty big one at that. How do I know? Well, it's my trick e-knee. I can feel it in my bones, I tell you, and I reckon it'll be one of the largest of the day.
