Yes! Good call! The armies weakened and demoralized, but still a bit cohesive, running from the horrors of the dead. Then maybe they end up being forced to fight Cersei and the Golden Company, leaving the forces of the living ground down to a nub, and forcing a scenario where the only option is a desperate plan to

Thank you sir!  You are a scholar and a gentleman.

Look, out of 80 episodes one of them has to be the worst.  You can please me all you want, and 1 of 80 will still be at the bottom of the list.  But this episode stunk.  It was a hack job and I hope it’s not indicative of the immense pressure put on the production team to wrap this story up.  Last week’s episode was

“these types of people”

Dude, what?

Haha, sorry about that.  <3  I get really feisty when my insomnia is keeping me up so late.

“The more I actually dwell on it, the less substance and value I feel this episode had, but I’ll give it a B I guess.” - Myles Mcnutt, 2019

Some of them, Jon and Jorah for example, and where was the leader of the Knights of the Vale last night? Anyway, there were people there who knew basic military strategy. Beyond that, I don’t think the Dothraki would be willing to charge into the dark against the dead like that. Highly loyal to Daenerys yes, but also

You know what? Not only was it different times, but plenty of people are discovering themselves, with the help of others, at the ripe age of 15-16...

Where are you going? What are you doing?

Yeah that’s the problem, I think. The idea of hearing the clamor of battle peter out to nothing and just darkness left behind in a matter of moments - the imagery was too seductive to the production team.

Death due to greed and whatever I can totally understand, that’s so much of what the show itself is about. But massive death just due to stupidity?

Never heard of this guy, and I don’t really Twitter, so would really appreciate an update when available! (I can follow new links to what he posts, whatever, I just won’t be Following anyone any time soon. :P)

Very neatly summed up so many of my own remaining thoughts about it.  Other than that I am a strategy gaming buff, so I’m definitely seeing the whole thing through the eyes of experience.  Despite your acknowledged lack of that experience, your observations are pretty spot-on.

then the doctor and the mother determine whether or not they will execute the baby. I don’t think so. Incredible.

“the business of government” - Oh, fuck off!

I sure love being fucking grey on Splinter when I come at things with such astute commentary time and again!

IF the Democrats only want to subpoena Barr because they “refuse to read the less-redacted report”
and
IF Barr et al are hiding nothing
then
WHY is it an offense to ask him to testify
and
WHAT would be the harm in him explaining things to them, and making them look foolish?

Yes, that was another thing that bothered me terribly. Why hadn’t they made some obsidian arrows for their best sharpshooters? There is no reason Lyanna Mormont needed to die to fell the giant, when one well placed arrow could have done the job.

I am mostly just very pissed that they thought they’d send in the Dothraki as their vanguard. I could have told them, I saw it coming a mile away. You can not send cavalry in against densely packed foot troops, they will get surrounded and overcome.
