They think they can replicate the huge success Porsche and Lamborghini have enjoyed by expanding into crossovers, but GM doesn’t have anywhere near the cache to pull it off.  

Anyone who thinks the C8 Corvette is going to bring in anything remotely close to $3.3B per year has obviously never seen one in person.  There’s a reason you only see photos of it from a couple of specific angles.  It is not an attractive car.  

You should try a GTI, or one of their R models.  

Hmm...you can’t see why anyone would buy a Porsche, Audi, Ducati, Lamborghini, Seat, Bentley, etc?  VAG has more interesting models across their lineup than any other carmaker...it isn’t even close really.  

VAG knows what they’re doing.  And they’re not leaving the US market.  Their overall global power gives them the leeway to play a long term game in the US.  I think they’re the best run (VAG) automaker in the world.
