We bought a couch, loveseat, and ottoman recently. It was totally worth an extra 80 bucks to get it delivered. It would have taken at least two trips in the car, if they fit at all, AND we would have had to carry them ourselves. No thanks.

I really enjoyed his comedy. I really really did. I loved his stand up, I loved Louie, I even liked Horace and Pete. I will admit I would have planned to watch his content after his inevitable comeback. But any of the leaked stuff so far is just.. not what I missed. His stand up was crass and offensive and Read more

Not really related but help me out. Baby Umbra is pretty much potty trained and of course favors my husband over me. In public if she needs to use the restroom, and of course wants daddy to take her, where should he go? He says he wouldn’t want to go in the women’s restroom. I say go wherever, but lean towards the Read more

That and Owl At Home are definitely the most worn books in our 2.5 year old’s collection.

We recently moved into a big house built in the 1880s. Almost 3000sq ft, far too big for three of us but it was a good deal and exactly in the neighborhood we wanted. It has creaky old wood floors and multiple staircases. Sometimes my toddler will just look up from playing and ask me “mommy, who’s that?” And I don’t Read more

I could barely handle reading the winners from last year and I already knew what happened in them :(

We’re in the pull-ups stage now, and hopefully getting past those soon, but all I ever wanted was just plain white diapers. Why aren’t those a thing? I like some of the Honesf Co designs, but I’m not buying those just for that. Non-plain white diapers are just so visible under clothing. WHY.

I birthed my child and it took a long time to even like her. I carried her for nine months and fed her from my body but the mom-type overwhelming feelings of affection when I even so much as thought about her did not come til much much later. (Yes, I totally had PPD). Caring for a little person is a huge adjustment Read more

I’m not dead! But I couldn’t log in for what seems like months. Unfortunately baby is two and a half now and becoming a more recognizable little person, so probably no more photos. Earlier today she told me “no mommy. Get away from me. Go upstairs and go to sleep”. So that’s fun.

Well let’s pretend for a sec that he wouldn’t get fired. He still won’t get paid AND needs to either repair a broken down car or get a new one in order to get paid again.

We briefly talked about buying a house there, since husband works on campus and the homes are lovely and it is a good central-ish location in town. But fuck if I was gonna be another white lady in UA.

Here’s the thing. I would say the word, perhaps, in an academic discussion. Maybe. But that would be purposeful, for a reason. When this shit happens and it just seems to “slip out”, you know that person says it on the reg without a second thought.

Every Hulu ad recently has been for this movie. At this point I want to see it somehow. (We rarely go to movies in theaters due to toddler). I like the Rock and rarely watch dumb action movies, so hopefully this won’t just seem like more of the same shit.

I finished grad school in 2010. I’ve always just paid whatever my loans have told me to pay. They’ll be paid off in 2020. I just assumed I’d be paying them off forever??

IKEA has a $5 nonstick skillet! It lasts about two years with regular scrambled eggs/fish sautéing use and then we just buy a new one.
