10Gb of RAM eaten up by the client? Ouch!

It's got the easiest learning curve of all the DAWs. You can get results in minutes.

No they wouldn't. They could just use the arrangement side which mirrors all conventional DAWs.

Has the problem with having lots of apps been fixed? I tried the beta few weeks ago and there was a major problem in that you could only back up at once as many apps as you could see on the screen at once.

This is awful news. Having widgets show a ton of RSS feeds, news and my inbox without having to go to the sites is great. I don't want a launch page which just has dumb links on it. That's what the bookmark bar is for. I don't need a page of bookmarks links. Surely this is a backwards move? One of Android's

That incompatibility issue was fixed by about 06:30am. I had it at first as well.

99% of people commenting seem to be forgetting about a form factor that a very large percentage of people will use Windows 8 with. Touch screen laptops.

I didn't say it was intuitive for desktops, as it's not. I said touch screen laptops, where the screen is obviously tilted and a very short distance away, so it's very comfortable to use. I totally agree that a mouse and keyboard are essential for most work so I agree Metro won't be great on desktops.

Touch screens are the future and Metro means a good touch interface. I've been using it on my touch screen laptop and I've found a combination of using the trackpad, keyboard and touch screen has been great depending on what I'm doing. It feels very fresh but also very intuitive.

TiVo is the DVR used by Virgin Media which is the UK's only cable provider, so it's massive here in the UK.

Maybe it's a Europe thing. Most people I know here in the UK use it.

Scotland is in the UK, no need to list it separately.

I discovered a way to get rid of hiccups that is super easy and works every time for me.

Why not have both available to everyone and give a choice? Why fragment? There are lots of touchscreen desktops now and some people will prefer to use the Metro UI rather than the mouse for some things.

They aren't ditching it. That is only the tablet/touch screen UI. There will be a W7 like desktop UI as well. You can use whatever one suits you best for the form factor you are using.

So spend $1,200 rather than use a free download? Yeah, great idea.

People buy Apple products regardless if they work in media or not. And media people in all the other countries are just as likely to buy one as in the UK. Why wouldn't they?
