Seriously, Monster Pulse is one of the best webcomics ever. Hands down. It is so good, and so deep, and so ARGH. Pure. Amazing.

I used to love MA3, but the last year or two it has veered into really uncomfortable territory with things that can only be called, at best, sexual assault. I won't say anyone shouldn't read it,and I still do, but it is definitely something that needs heavy trigger warnings for people who have been abused.
Just rewatched this a few weeks ago, and it reblew my mind. The movie was pretty WTF though. Utena is a transformer?
One of them may be eaten by ALF.
I don't even think it is necessarily that he's BAD. Just very inexperienced and not ready to be the lead in a big action movie. He reminded me a lot of Jake Sisko from DS9. I didn't dislike AE at all, but it wasn't anything that moved me a lot. They could have done more with what they had by rearranging some pieces…
My personal head canon: Crane was actually doing what he was told and sitting in the car, but got bored, so started pushing buttons to see what happened. He hit the On-Star button and the connection opened up with 'What can we do for you?' Being him, he probably replied in some witty way that led into a conversation…
Blessedly my household has avoided the show, so we are all stoked for this. Not having cable and having to proactively acquire things rather than them just being 'there' has worked wonders for us. =)
Does it suit the feel of the series? I haven't read them, but we adore audiobooks (My kids have one going pretty much 24/7, since they have trouble reading but are more than capable of understanding language if it isn't written) and love Doctor Who and HTTYD.... This seems a shoe in. Anyway, if it suits the feel (It…
Yeah, seriously gotta agree on Turbo. I don't mind cars, but I certainly didn't think 'we need to remake this movie with snails instead of talking cars'. Stumbling making a movie happens for any studio. Cloning that stumble and /making it worse/ takes something special.
If this doesn't happen, then someone is really an idiot. Now that you've pointed it out, it seems so /obvious/.
There are worse things to copy than Firestarter, to be honest. But it also meshes with some other shows. Starman, some others. I'd swear they guy in the title pic with all the hair has been the Guy With Powers in one of these shows before. That said, I've gone really sour on Abrams and think he should cut back a…
One of the few animes that I both loved a lot, and yet have no desire to watch again.
On the upside, the audiobooks are read by Wil Wheaton. (But only the Merlin saga, I think.)
The Italian Job and Lock Stock are two examples of the Lady and the Tiger ending done right. It could go either way, but you are satisfied. Too many things think just leaving it ambiguous is itself satisfying, leaving you frustrated because it matters a lot. Those two movies only matter a little, and you would be…
The biggest mistake was tieing the two together. It is a waste of the IP on a movie that would have done just as well with any other name. Brad Pitt would have sold it alone. And now we are unlikely to ever see a proper adaptation. So that makes me really sad. But I did enjoy it. It was so far removed from the book…
Sorry, it doesn't work that way. When you make a joke about how big a black man/cyborg/whatever's penis is, you cannot just deny that that is a situation with a quite loaded history. Like the other examples listed. It is trite, is is overdone, and it is offensive. Just because the character isn't REALLY black, doesn't…
I am with you here, this was the lowest point I've had in an otherwise quite enjoyable comedic Judge Dredd buddy cop prequel.
It is, like many of his works, extremely hard to put into words. It has a feel that is uniquely his. I will also say that the dub with Phil Hartman as Jiji is well worth experiencing, he changed the tone of the character from the JP version, as I recall, but it was a hilite of the movie for me. Also the last thing he…
I can't disagree. I am the target market for moe stuff and love it, but I also love variety. I'm not sold yet on Kill la Kill, possibly because it is so over the top and fanservicey, but I am getting to like it more. I also just watched Utena through and MAN they don't make anime like that anymore. Can't be cloned…
