1st Gear: Side gig, nothing, this IS their business. While I personally view Musk as a clown, Tesla has gotten into the position where it gets paid to exist by its competition.

Just like my tractor!
You aren’t wrong- as much as boomers try to glorify their participation in the summer of love, “fuck y’all, I got mine” Is really what they’ve ended up standing for. Their parents built our infrastructure. The boomers said, yeah, and we can pass all the maintenance on to the next generation and get a free pass.
I think it’s obvious: Matt Damon is playing another stranded being whom the collective Thors must attempt to rescue from wherever he is.
At the end of the day, SUV’s sell, have larger margins and can still fit within a brand’s lineup. Look at the Macan and Cayenne, the Urus (accounted for over half of all Lambo’s sold), and the DBX.
I have degrees in biochemistry and chemistry but I can’t wrap my brain around metallurgy. It is very cool
The bridge will never be defeated!!!
Hope they go around that 11'8 bridge!
Thanks for the info! Did not know that about touch screen materials. I’m with you, we’re gonna have to get a lot better at recycling soon.
It is cool how surface reactions in some metals forms a stronger surface layer that protects it unlike iron oxidation. Aluminum and titanium are two that come to mind. I am sure there are others.
Regarding the Rhodium, and these other metals used in batteries, emissions controls, etc...do you think we will run into a time when those metals become rare and prohibitively expensive to extract? I’m genuinely curious, to me it looks like we are trading one finite resource (oil) for a myriad of other finite…
I briefly thought about making a sarcastic comment about his weight/ health and the “surprise” of him dying.
But that seems tasteless. He was a human being who left friends and family behind. People will mourn him. I’m sorry I even considered the joke for a second. And I hope no one else is “that person.”
Any early 2000's VW, for that matter...
Yes! I am in my 50s and can find and understand google results vastly better than the many 15-21 year olds I work with. as they have no experience and filters to understand what are good and reliable results. I have grown tired of explaining that Google does not understand pronouns well.
I’d take Tesla + stronger right to repair laws over the dealer network
First Gear: Never underestimate the staying power you gain by being able to Google something. It’s true that anyone can type words into Google and get a result, but most of the effectiveness comes from knowing what to type, finding some random forum post from 4 years ago, looking through it to decipher the useful…
unfinished london is such a great series
Reminds me of the Jay Foreman video when he discussed the unfinished Ring Roads around London.
