In addition to my other comment, I don't see why you'd want your Pi to be your access point. You can get a much better access point elsewhere, use the Pi as an ad-blocking DNS server only and then you can use the service for wired and wi-fi connections.

A less drastic alternative is to disable most push notifications and then bury all apps in folders. It also really pretty.
