I am right in line with you. Use mail.app, have 5 email addresses to keep my life segregated, and want to increase the integration with the different google apps (like google reader). I am also trying Thunderbird and investigating extensions to do what I want, but I just keep going back to the mail.app.

You can always use Epicurious.com and put your recipes in there. You can save your own, save others from the website, and even submit yours to the greater interwebs. They have a pretty good data-entry screen that works way better than excel, and you can access the recipes from anywhere.

Glaeven is on the right track with the burn 'em track. But if you want to recycle/reuse, then mix the ash into your compost pile and use the carbon for fertilizer in your garden!

I attempted to read your short story, but the lined-paper background is a bit too harsh for my eyes. May I suggest that you maybe find a less-invasive background?

Looking for just a little help. I have been trying to get airplay to work on my mac by using Albertz form of Shairport. I am almost there, but this part fails to install:

The trick to keeping your feet warm in the winter is keeping two properties in check. First is heat as talked about above (Clo units) and you want to keep that in and regulated. The second is moisture from sweat. Problem is, even though Merino Wool is great at both of these things, shoes and boots are notoriously

Just so everyone knows who loves the extra functionality of Screen Sharing and can't live without it, they have removed the menulet and extra keys from Screen Sharing as they were vestiges from their remote desktop program. You now have to get the full remote desktop to get those buttons and menulets back. Booooo

@storm: Yes, I have jailbroken the phone since day 1 of jailbreak last year. I tried with the pwned 2.0 yesterday and didn't have much luck (the phone didn't ring for calls!), so all I did was restore the phone from the previous point and it was as if I did nothing with it yesterday.

Used it yesterday and didn't have a problem installing it, but then I realized my phone didn't ring when I got phone calls, but it let me know when I had voicemail! Still quite a few bugs in it at the moment and I didn't see anything worth using in the Cydia app.

The other thing to consider with the megapixel war is the fact of pushing the physical limits on the size of the photoreceptors. When megapixels increase, the size of the photoreceptors decrease. With smaller photoreceptors, the less likely it will be hit with a photon of light. Hense, you will need more light (ie

Agreed with rest, it will automount as soon as it is installed and rebooted so no matter of mounting it via term. Good to know if it does ever not mount automatically.

For another way to make a window appear for Finder, Terminal, and others that won't work with this trick is to Cmd-Tab to the prog you want, let go to have it active in the top panel, then hit Cmd-N for a new window. Works for virtually everything, even if you have an active window up and you need another.

@Francis Wu: Actually, when I moved from PC to Mac I was impressed by how much of the shortcuts are preserved. As a fellow shortcut fanatic that liked the Windows shortcuts, most Mac shortcuts are the same. They have the same Alt-Tab application switching, except better because you hit q, and they quit! Cut copy paste

It looks like people are pretty much passionate one side or the other so nothing here is going to help anyone. The original post was just a mistake that wasn't mentioned properly in the bittorrent post and they got caught. Big deal, they won't do anything.

Ah hah, answered my own question. You have to add [sleepers.net] and then you will the latest BossTools so you can move all of your ringtones and whatnot, the 1.01 iPhysics, and also a 1.1.3 ringtone fix with the BSD Subsystem 2.0. This worked for me just fine but kept one or two of the old nonworking files in there

What about the ringtones, has anyone been able to get the default ringtones to work? All mine can do is vibrate so I moved a converted .mp3 to .m4a renamed to .m4r and the first one worked fine. So I moved all of the default ringtones out and tried to put a few more converted songs in there using AFP. No dice.

I would like to say hell yeah I'm gonna upgrade, but I am not sure. I am still using 1.1.1 and loving it (minus the occasional bugs I get) but I would like the tighter integration with the native iPhone apps like the google maps and whatnot.

I have just installed Ubuntu Linux on my mac mini last week as a dual boot using bootcamp. It is actually a very simple install and Ubuntu has all of the necessary drivers for the mac, including the bluetooth and apple remote support.
