I'm not a physics expert, but that chalk board looks suspiciously similar to some I've seen at the end of a graduate-level econometrics course.

I'm one of those Mac and Linux users, but I've actually been on Mint since the introduction of Unity. Even the Mac dock has more customization than Unity.
Part of Newsweek's decline has to be that it, like Time Magazine, has watered down its content. Look at some old Newsweek archives and you'll see what a high quality magazine it used to be. Now it's mostly fluff and ads.
I wouldn't say he looks "totally normal," but he sure looks a lot better than before. Good for him.
How have you enjoyed WGU? I have a more traditiona BS already, but I've always found the WGU model interesting and would be interested in hearing more of your opinions on it.
I pay for the electronic version of The Economist. Given that they also give you a free audio version of all their articles when you subscribe, I think it's the best deal for serious news out there.
At first I thought the "Song of Solomon" book was actually the biblical Song of Solomon. I can see why they might want to band the latter, though I will say it is certainly one of the more entertaining parts of the bible.
Actually no. I'm all for the interesting politics and optimistic science, but Trek needs to avoid as much lowest-common-denominator sex, blood, and guts as possible.
I don't generally keep too many icons on my desktop, unless I'm in the middle of a project. Then I might have a few folders for storing different parts of the project. Once it's done, however, everything gets catalogued away into other areas of the file system. The desktop for me is actually like a desktop - a…
This is a pretty strange illustration overall. Why are the devils in charge of Zion, the location that's usually considered God's city? Why are the angels in charge of Babylon, that place with all those whores? Very odd. But giving the demons guns makes sense. After all, demons frequently get other medieval…
An semi-funny Simpsons clip. There's something that's been hard to find for the past fifteen seasons or so.
Astonishing. I haven't been this enthralled with something Star Wars since I saw the original trilogy during the Thanksgiving of 1993. Oh how I wish this were official and in production now.
I don't have a problem with this so long as the retailer has some sort of physical presence in the state. Then taxing its transactions within the state is fair(er) since it actually uses the physical amenities of the state and it has some democratic recourse due to its presence there. The moment this devolves into…
I love the panorama idea. I used Photosynth on my iPhone while I lived in Europe this summer and it worked fairly well, but I was still jealous of the panorama features of some of my friends' point-and-shoot cameras.
See my reply to Gryphoneer. I believe it addresses most of your complaints.
Actually, I think my comment made it pretty clear that I DIDN'T miss the point of the article. I just found the point strange/ironic.
It's amazing to me that many people are more incensed by the US cover-up than by the fact that the USSR committed such atrocities. Yet again imperfect America gets more criticism heaped on it than international socialism. Things never change.
I attribute the distance between the Doctor, Amy, and Rory to the inevitable gulf that develops between in-laws. :-)
You sir, are a lucky man.
Now I need a keychain that lets me put a wax seal with a family crest on everything. THAT, would be cool.
