I like this desktop a lot. I do have one question, however. Are those the iStat menu icons in the menu bar?

Well, I figure things like this article are just general recommendations and not guidelines for everyone. I personally am trying to burn fat and so carbohydrates are certainly NOT the cornerstone of my diet. However, two of my siblings have Type I Diabetes so I do sympathize with you. My hat is off to you for

I was curious to try this with Verizon (not that I need it given that my plan is unlimited) but it does not work with that carrier. Oh well.

This is definitely one of the coolest case mods/desks I have ever seen. It fits the gamer type more than the professional type I think but it still looks like it's a lot of fun to use and to that it was a lot of fun to build.

Very cool setup. I'm sure half of the fun was building this thing though.

Thank you for explaining that so clearly. I know that there are guides on Gizmodo that explain how this all works as well but you were very thorough and succinct. I appreciate your efforts and tip my hat to you, sir.

I personally hope that Apple takes some cues from PathFinder for its next Finder update.

Maybe this will be good at getting a discussion of some sort going. I know that when I went through high school and even during my undergraduate years it could be very difficult getting people to answer questions or contribute because they felt that the teacher or professor would make them feel inferior for giving a

I agree with this. I would love to be able to acknowledge clever or interesting comments more easily.

My old Pentium 4 runs Ubuntu just fine. I did supe it up with 2GB of RAM though just to give the old computer every advantage I could.

I recall lying on some of the wire mesh (keep in mind this is very thick and strong stuff- not chicken wire or anything like that) on the open observation deck of the CN Tower just to prove how brave I was. Being a teenager made me a living idiot I guess.

Thanks for taking care of that.

It sounds like Amazon Cloud Service crashes will be some of the biggest productivity enhancing events in my life. No Reddit= time to do more with Stata.

Are batteries dying on mice and keyboard really a big problem? I seem to replace the batteries on my Logitch combination (S 530 Mac) maybe once a year at most. That said, this DIY project seems like one of those things that's impractical but tons of nerd fun.

Disclaimer: I'm not Catholic, etc.

Agreed. I would even go so far to argue that when you increase the well-being of the mothers of a country you increase the well-being everyone including the boys they raise to be men.

It's frustrating, isn't it? Even more damaging is that when you mistreat the mothers of a nation it causes the next generation of daughters AND sons to be even worse off since mothers are primarily responsible (in poorer societies) for raising and educating the children. It's a pretty vicious cycle.

In some ways they already have. Both countries have terrible gender ratios thanks to the selective abortion of female fetuses and female infanticide. The Economist has a summary write-up about it here: [goo.gl]

Ah, I must have missed it. Thank you kindly for pointing it out.
