If I lived there, this would make me exclusively use Uber.
For durability and crash testing.
Giving cars to us auto-critics has little to do with selling the cars themselves, especially when it comes to supercars like this. If someone is interested in a McLaren 675 LT, lord knows my opinion, or those of my peers won’t have an impact on whether or not they’re going to get it.
Brand / Halo advertising. While the rest of us can’t get a 675LT, there are a decent number that may be eyeing the more affordable 570S. And 570s sales are going to be much more key to the survival and wellbeing of the company. Same way I’m sure the R8 helped bolster sales of Audi A4/S5/TT
They thrive off praise and publicity? Maintaining a high profile keeps the brand hot. It’s not like this is the last thing they’re going to try to sell.
The mcclaren type of buyer likes to be reassured that the car the bought is amazing and worth the zillion dollars it costs. Reassured = happy 675LT customer = happy 725LT customer in a couple years.
Just being a bit pedantic, but they are not just known to burn oil, that’s literally what they are designed to do. You make it sound like a bad thing, when really if you aren’t (and don’t have the pre-mix) then you’re going to have problems.
To be fair, he did a wicked job on that. Definitely a step up from the normal replica cars you see. Still would rather have an M3 or something for that price though.
H-D has to cater to their clientele. I remember one of their engineers said their customers don’t care what exhausts they put on their bikes, just as long as they’re dual shortys. Their clientele tend to be affluent and more lifestyle-oriented, so that’s what they’re selling to. But I also remember reading that they…
Exceeding already low expectations. Considering some of Subaru’s designs back in the 70s, this looks quite good...
My ‘96 HD Superglide shares very little with the Superglides made today. And that year was when the first DynaGlides replaced the old FXR frames. These new ones are a lot more ride-able than mine.
Exactly. People want dull and boring. That’s why it looks like everything else. If it looks different, it won't sell.
A bit mundane perhaps, but it looks better than the current generation, IMO.
I’m getting so used to fugly Subarus that I think this boring, derivative design is a big improvement.
That car really looks boring.
they went from the wonderful bugeye wrx to this. what in the world happened. id love to find an unmolested bugeye.
I’ll bet it’s really grounded to the ground.
Are you sure that isn’t a Mazda? Ugh.
My favorite thing about this truck is the driving position; best I’ve ever experienced. You sit tall and upright, like you’re in a throne, the greenhouse is tall and the belt-line is so low that it feels like it’s almost at your waist. It’s like sitting in an ATC tower.
