That’s “Wheel of Fortune” transliterated into Japanese. It’s effectively the same, though I don’t know if Japanese law distinguishes between original English and transliterations for copyright purposes.

Closed Gold Mine:
Movies like MCU are the comfort food of films. They aren’t necessarily bad, but they are comfortable. You aren’t really going to be surprised or challenged. They don’t take major creative risks. They’re fine and enjoyable. But I don’t want to eat comfort food all the time. It’ll make you feel sick. Sometimes, I want…
It’s not just the device itself. It’s also licensing all those movies etc.
When Alec Baldwin got hired to play Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, part of the joke was known Hollywood Liberal playing a conservative New York Business Man. Now, it seems like he is BECOMING Jack Donaghy. Alec, I think you might have taken Method Acting a little too far, hm?
Ta-Nehisi Coates has been writing fiction for years, as the writer of Black Panther and recently Captain America. The Water Dancer is his first work of prose fiction, but his comics work has been fantastic.
Her music needs more rhythm and melody. I really liked Glass and Patron, Two Weeks, Video Girl, but the rest of it is her voice kind of expressing air over way too sparse beat.
I understand your discomfort with the game, but I think from a Japanese point of view these issues are seen quite differently. Beyond just being seen differently by Japanese society, it seems to me trans people in Japan view themselves differently than trans people in the West.* That being said, I do think the game…
Quite frankly, I think what you are saying is naive. You can say that cancel culture and targeting harassment campaigns are different in your mind but that is ignoring reality. I understand our failed justice system has lead victims to feel that Twitter is their only outlet. But, to say they have no responsibility…
I’m going to have to respectfully disagree. Recently there was a news story about a woman who goaded her boyfriend into suicide, repeatedly. Many commenters, myself included, think that she is at least partially culpable for his death.
I don’t know man. Tove Lo has a song “Bitches” about how much she likes to eat women out, and journalists did ask her questions about that. I understand it can be an invasive question, but it’s also about the content of Sivan’s music.
This is a great summary, but one recent lore book (Stolen Intelligence) definitively states that Eris did NOT write Truth to Power, although the information on her childhood appears to be accurate. This only adds more wrinkles into the plot, as Guardians are unable to remember their past lives, so who would be able to…
I feel like in those focus groups there had to be at least one person who wasn’t a complete idiot. How do you react to that kind of stupid? I feel like if it were me I’d just be drowned out by all the chicken brains.
I would take this review with a grain of salt. Granted, I’ve only read the first issue, but it was totally up my alley. It’s like a meta take-down of those early Vertigo series. It’s pretty pretentious but I wouldn’t say it’s unimaginative or cliche. Yeah, the protagonist is an asshole, but it’s not a male power…
The pacing, the pacing, the pacing. It’s not just a Marvel Netflix show problem, it’s almost all Netflix shows. Whyyyy do they stretch out 6 hours of plots into 10 episodes? Netflix thinks the formula works, because it keeps people watching, but it makes every show a SLOG.
Louis C.K. is a creep, I loved Nanette, but she is wrong here.
This looks amazing and exactly what I was hoping for. It also seems to be lighter than the Joycons, with this grip total weight is 13.3 oz. compared to the 14 oz with joycons. I know it’s not a big difference but for those of us who think the Switch is already heavy it’s an improvement.
The voices, costumes, dialogue fit way more in with MCU than the comics. Yeah, there’s Miles Morales and Ms. Marvel but the characters who have MCU versions are clearly, if not based on, heavily influenced by the MCU.
The trailers? There’s definitely comics stuff in there, but they are also drawing heavily from the MCU as well.
Ugh, looks like it’s based on the MCU, just like UA3. *sigh*
