Awesome. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West was the one I was waiting for the most. It’s also on PS Now but I wasn’t sure about the viability of streaming.

I can’t believe they went with a DS4 layout. I vastly prefer assymetrical and won’t be trying this until that is an option. Why do you need a propriety controller anyways? PSNow on PC works with many third-party controllers.
Yes, but not one that attaches to the iPad and can’t be removed easily, like most folio type keyboards. I actually use a mini bluetooth keyboard. I can bring it and take it out only when I need it. When I want to just use my iPad for media, I can hold it up without a keyboard weighing it down. Using that, combined…

Oh yeah, I’d say early 20's more than full-on teens. I haven’t watched sinced Fourze and that had a high schooler though. But still, most the Avengers and Justice League are in their 30's rather than 20's.
I think it’s actually changed recently. The various Kamen Riders and Sentai heroes are getting younger and younger. I haven’t kept up that well, but I think partially why is because they want to get young, attractive male actors to pick up on the female demographic.
That’s not a “dick move”, it’s hugely violating and I’m pretty sure illegal. I’m not saying he deserved to get beat up, she was also in the wrong for using excessive force, but you also don’t have to minimize what he did to make that point.
Tim, this is a major accomplishment and you should feel proud of yourself. As someone who is a semi-professional freelance translator, this series has fascinated me to no end. In all honesty, something like this, or a project similar to this, could easily be a book. You’ve given me a lot to think about when…
This all ties into our cultural obsession with nostalgia. We’ve always had it, but I feel like lately it’s getting critical. Almost everything produced nowadays is saturated with nostalgia.
Do you not see how that makes it even worse though? Here is a woman wearing blackface despite, most likely, having never seen a black person in real life before. That’s awful, and it shows on the cosplay itself. She in no way resembles a real black person, and the fact that you think so is very concerning.
I always thought this was strange. Plenty of non-Japanese people cosplay as characters from anime. In many cases, such as Naruto, etc., the characters are explicitly coded as Asian (something like One Piece is much more vague). When Western cosplayers dress as Naruto characters, do you know what they DON’T do? Color…
I think it’s due to BTS being pulled in two directions. They have too many vocalists for a hip-hop group, but too many rappers for a pop group. Boy with Luv really is worse for the extra rap verses shoved into it (especially Suga’s awful trap break), but something like Mic Drop doesn’t need 4 vocalists to sing the…
I think with any shared universe, you have to expect that your audience won’t have watched every movie. I had totally missed Thor 2, but when I watched Ragnarok I just accepted that Loki was impersonating Odin while Thor was gone... I don’t feel like I missed anything, because they explain it in the movie. I also…
Well... I’m sold (almost). I love Kate Bishop and if they can get her characterization right that’d be amazing. Have her work as a private detective in LA? That’s a pretty TV-friendly pitch and you can also use it to introduce the Maggia, Count Nefaria, Madame Masque (I know Whitney Frost was in Agent Carter but…
This is ridiculous. You shouldn’t even be able to review a game that you don’t own, let alone a game that hasn’t even been released yet!
The Books of Sorrow were written by Seth Dickinson, an excellent fantasy and sci-fi writer in his own right! His novels The Traitor Baru Cormorant and The Monster Baru Cormorant are amazing!
The Jack Knight Starman comics have been on DC Universe since the beginning, so I think the likelihood might be high. They seem to add comics first that tie into the shows. I think the only thing stopping them would be how James Robinson feels about it, because I think he signed a contract where has to give permission…
I think this is the ultimate proof of how bloated, plodding, and slow-moving TV shows nowadays are: they literally took a 2 hour movie and turned it into an 8-hour TV series without adding substantially to the plot. Almost every new, buzzy drama nowadays would work way better as a movie.
My dream is for a more easily portable switch, but the internals don’t change. It’s largely a form factor change, maybe remove gimmicky features like detachable controllers and HD rumble to reduce cost (maybe small screen too). Then, a dock that contains more internals, so when you plug it into your TV, better…
That just gave me a crazy theory... what if she decides to write her own autobiographical musical? So the musical-show ends up being the show in the show. It’d be very meta and on point.
I love Lindy West, I loved Shrill, but something about this show seems off. The tone of it doesn’t match Lindy’s book, which, yes, was about shame and acceptance and being fat, but it was also very dry, sarcastic, and funny. This show seems a little softer, with the rougher parts of Lindy’s voice smoothed out. I was a…
