“If you live in a big city, five years ago if you drop off your kids with a big SUV you’re a man,” he said. “Now, if you do this, you’re a ‘terrorist’”

Yup, it is happening in real time. CL ad for a just delivered Model Y and screenshot of one in inventory for immediate delivery in the same area.

The part that is missing is how much they increased their prices from ‘20 to early ‘22, now they are back tracking and essentially giving a finger to anyone that bought one of these newly discounted cars in the past 2 years or so. Incentives exist in the car world, but they are usually nowhere near this and ramp up

Remember when Tesla touted their used resale value by guaranteeing a certain residual amount? This is basically the opposite of that, they are going to ruin the used value of their cars doing this. Your X you bought last week is now $13k less valuable even if you have not taken delivery yet!

or try your luck and buy the cars that you think will only keep appreciating in price. That way you probably can still get some profits after minus the running cost + tax and insurance

G-wagon.

Why do I feel like those headlights were taken from a Chrysler product?

I miss the days when luxury meant “comfortable.” Today it means conspicuous consumption, i.e. expensive.

Used Mercedes S-class.  There are a billion little modules that can break and they use a vacuum pump for the door locks which means that any one problem in the vacuum system can cause a failure of the door locks.  Not to mention all of the things that break will be expensive.

Jeep. All we own, we owe.

Public Transit just does not make sense for many commuters

“Give me a lane long enough and a road on which to widen it, and I shall gridlock the world.” ~ Archidrives

It’s pork barrel spending. And a massive land grab.

May I present a counter argument.

The real problem is all the Normies and their dammed SUV culture...I would have wanted that Honda E-thing but nooooo I can’t have it cause it won’t sell well.

But that $40k buyer may be swayed into buying an EV due to the tax break that reduces the net cost verus buying a gas crossover in the low 30k range. The average car goes for about $36k-ish so having the tax credit get EVs closer or below average is smart for the typical buyer.  I agree there needs to be more EVs in

Qanon warned us about the danger of groomers.

Is this supposed to be a car review? I don’t understand.

Interesting! - In Dutch we have “gezellig” (and German has “gesellig”), which must be related to “koselig”. It’s an adjective of “gezel”, meaning “companion” (and from there: “apprentice” (of a craftsman)). It does have the social connotation, but I’d associate it with the atmosphere indoors, even with interiors. A

Visiting a friends family in Norway introduced me to hoselig. We spent hours outside wrapped in blankets around a fire chatting watching the sun (never) set horizontally on the horizon.
