Good god.

It wasn't until recently that I found out that there's nothing intrinsic to nuclear fission that causes "nuclear winter" — rather, it's simply the burning of things on a massive scale. An io9 commenter had to enlighten me. The idea that the remains of civilization would out the sun is absolutely horrific.

I remember getting Chuck Yeager's Air Combat when I was a kid, followed promptly by the disappointing realization that it didn't work on my computer. I was too young to figure out the comparability issues it had with my family's then-new Windows 1995 computer. I never did get to play it.

I'm actually pretty excited about the characters. Not that it's necessarily ground breaking or anything, but based on this small sample I think I'll enjoy playing as Booker and watching him interact with Elizabeth.
