How I Met Your Dad is a totally different story about totally different characters. It's only a spinoff in the sense of its structure - someone telling their children the long story of all the things that happened leading up to the parents meeting.

I love children, and I often find them adorable, but I never get the appeal of these child re-enactment videos. Charlie bit me? Blood? Hilarious and adorable. Kids pretending to be in famous movies or shows? I don't get it.
You spoke too soon...
I was waiting to see how long it would take people to bring up that idiotic article about "people dying because of batkid." As it turns out, it happened almost immediately. :-\
Are you trusting a random website with zero citations for your source? It's referring to an Italian court case in which a judge made the ruling that a child's autism was caused by the MMR vaccine. This is the same court system that brought us the conviction of scientists for failing to predict an earthquake. Nothing…
Anybody familiar with Savannah and her boyfriend? My friend's niece and her friends were obsessed with them last year. My quick glance at these characters indicates that (with the exception of that Shane guy), these people overall seem better than Savannah and whatever her boyfriend's name is. At least these people…
What I meant was that sympathizing is more cerebral than emotional. You recognize that the person is upset, and you wish that they weren't upset, but you don't physically feel upset - you don't shed a tear or experience that gut-wrenching feeling.
You've got it backwards. Empathy is sharing the feeling; sympathy is recognizing the feeling and feeling bad for them.
Rape is the only crime in which the victim is immediately doubted and credibility of the victim is called into question.
I read Doug's article. I find Doug to be insensitive on many issues, this one included. I just also take issue with believing Chris Brown's claim that he was 8 and the girl was 14 or 15 at face value and then asserting that he was, without a doubt, raped.
In all fairness, Chris Brown wasn't necessarily raped. Considering the circumstances (his older cousins, his history of violence) there is always the possibility that he lied or that he forced himself upon the older girl. I'm not saying he did; I just think it's unreasonable to assume that Chris Brown was assaulted…
I was in a sorority. Our "hazing" was always mild, and there were always older sisters walking around reminding pledges that this was supposed to be fun and not scary, so don't do anything that they felt uncomfortable with. A lot of it involved silly rules that made life somewhat inconvenient or wearing embarrassing…
I know other people have said it, but seriously, Moulin Rouge is 100% a jukebox musical and should be removed from this list. I'm not even talking about removing it for being horrible (which it is). It just doesn't fit the criteria. It's absurd.
Marry the Man Today is genius. GENIUS!
Thank you for this. I was just about to write a similar comment. It's pretty darn racist to focus on Jay Z here. Yes, Jay Z could be boycotting this, but so could everybody else whose merchandise is sold at Barneys. If you're going to target Jay Z, target everybody who gets rich from Barneys.
Whether you mean for it to be offensive or not, it is offensive. That's like saying "I'm not saying [insert any other derogatory term here] in that way, but in this other way." It's still offensive to many people, and by choosing to use that word over others, you are actively demeaning people. I'm all about free…
I don't see a problem with apologizes to those offended. It's when someone "apologizes IF they have offended" that angers me.
It is totally immature to spend a few minutes re-arranging and customizing your phone? If that's not your thing, that's fine, but how is that a sign of maturity?
Comma outside the apostrophes? Poor form, iOS. Poor form.
Gretchen, I'm sorry I laughed at you that time you got diarrhea at Barnes & Nobles. And I'm sorry for telling everyone about it. And I'm sorry for repeating it now.
