It’s not just game stores. I’m in a QuikTrip convenience store a lot. It’s a very busy store, 24 hours a day, with the usual crime and vagrants you find in such places. They are now single-staffing the overnight shift while still expecting that worker to restock and clean and prep for the insanely busy morning hours…

I have two local stores and many times they had one person for hours at a time. I got to know one of the managers and he was extremely exhausted over it. Pretty sure he quit as know I never see him anymore.

Single staffing a retail store is dangerous and stupid. Especially when that single employee is there for nearly 12 hours. Good for her. Your life is worth more than a pittance from a company that doesn’t care about you in the slightest.

There was a study about 5 or 6 years ago that showed the better they were at a game, the less likely a male gamer was to be sexist to female competitors and team mates. Misogyny was disproportionately the domain of the mediocre males.
