I don’t think this is horrible. It should be relatively easy to identify and shut down abusers. The barrier to entry is high enough so that there won’t be a huge amount of it happening for the lulz.

I used Ghirardelli white chocolate and Bakers bittersweet chocolate. Both had bloomed pretty severely, and when chopped up, they kinda crumbled.

It really feels like you are reaching to try to justify this... It takes more time and effort to pull a pi cobbler off of a breadboard than to swap an SD card.

I just recently made chocolate chip cookies with some pretty old chocolate (Last year’s christmas baking supplies). They turned out all right. Didn’t quite melt the same way and seemed a little airy, but it made a pretty satisfying cookie.
