My favorite programmer test is to write the worst fizzbuzz you can and explain why it is dumb.

Metacritic is just an aggregation of review sites. The score is a TL;DR for the review. Metacritic takes these TL;DRs out of context and averages them. The scores are mostly arbitrary and every site uses a different scale. They try to normalize them by converting them to a 100 point scale, but if one site's 2/5 is

I stock a lot of flour in my pantry, cake, AP, whole wheat, and bread. I really enjoy using cake flour for pancakes, waffles, and just about anything that you want to make light and fluffy without any toothiness to it. (My wife loves cake making and I was a fool for not believing that cake flour makes great cakes)

GPS measurement of such things is horribly uncomfortable. The designer made the odd decision of using a 2 inch diameter peg for the mounting point.

My parents used to own an old mail car. Right hand drive, 2 speed powerglide and a chevrolet inline 4. I think it was an early 70s. We sold it eventually and I think the buyer bought it to get the powerglide.

I agree, but as I said, it's better to err on the side of over-sharing than under-sharing. The secretive culture of income caused a lot of misfortune for a great many people. People still try to convince us that our income is a secret number that you can't tell the guy in the cube next to you and he could be paid more

The cornstarch doesn't bind the water to the proteins... Cornstarch is a thickener, when added to liquid and heated to around 190f, it turns into a gel. The starch gel is holding the water, making the texture of the eggs creamier. I'd be tempted to call this method an egg gravy. It's just concealing the fact that you

I'm not exactly sure how a spatchcocked chicken would cook faster than quarters. It would definitely require less effort to prepare as there are fewer pieces to move around, but the overall time required to cook shouldn't be less.

I think that the biggest issue that people face with making scrambled eggs is that they use too much heat. When your scrambled eggs get watery, it is because the proteins are squeezed so tight that they push the water out.

I was under the impression that Ikea's strong suit was the durability of their composite woods...

In a world where you need to pick the lesser of two evils, I would definitely pick over-sharing about finances than under-sharing. The tight lipped culture of earning privacy did a lot of harm to many people's potential income. It's impossible to know that you are being underpaid if nobody tells you.

Spatchcocking a bird is my very favorite way to prepare them. Since we switched to a spatchcocked turkey for thanksgiving, we've halved the time the bird is in the oven and we've had much better results.

I've considered other possibilities, but it's a Cuisinart Belgian Waffle Stick Maker http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-Stai…, so It makes Belgian waffle sticks, which isn't ideal for most waffle maker hacks.

We only got one wedding gift... it was a waffle iron. We use it about twice a year.

I live in the midwest and I hadn't heard about this until we found out that the wireless backhauls we ordered are looking at over a month delay due to the port shutdown.

Uh, this article doesn't explain why the rPi crashes... Yah, it explains how light can induce a current in an IC, but that doesn't really answer the question. A better explanation is that when you flash the camera, the SMPS (Switched mode power supply) chip cuts power to the 3.3 volt rail for long enough (a few

So, uh... what about the people who can properly digest milk? Can we keep drinking the stuff?

I cook my bacon over low heat in a hot pan because using cold cast iron to cook your bacon makes for difficult to clean cast iron.

We often dine out on Feb 15th. Sometimes V-Day specials are still available. My wife is a server, so I usually have hot dogs with my son for V-Day.

Joe McHale is a good actor, but he did a very poor job as Roy. Part of the problem was it was an extremely typical american pilot of a british show. Exact same show, american actors, british english changed to american english (even for the brit).
