I used Adele's version for my dance with my dad at my wedding. I had to listen to it repeatedly beforehand to make sure I didn't sob my way through it.

This is why I thank the movie gods that I live in the homeland of the Alamo Drafthouse theater.

Yesterday I went down an internet rabbit hole that started with an article I was reading for work, and ended up at this woman's account of her post-partum depression - http://rel.ly/2013/01/depres… It's written really well, and aligns with what friends have told me about their PPD. I'm sure there are resources all

Sorry, I'm not clear- are you talking about the danger that wildly speculating pundits cause to our neighborhoods? Or the people who spread misinformation about mental health issues? Or the lawmakers who continually ignore the need for social reform that helps people with mental illness?

Exactly. Can you just imagine how hilarious it would be to run around saying, "Guys, I'm on a power panel!" Hilarious.

I really wanted to make a thoughtful comment on this article, but all thoughts have been eclipsed by this one: I really want to be on a power panel. I could get so much mileage out of the name alone.

Mine is ON Valentine's Day. I win by 24 hours. It is, possibly, the worst birthday ever.

Someone please come over to my house and talk me down from dyeing all the hairs bright colors.

I did that. .. Ultimately it was much more problematic that they were huge Phish fans.

I interview way more people than I'd like (picky company), and I get lots of weird thank you notes. I second the person who said to keep them short. I also pay a great deal more attention to them if the person actually references something we talked about (e.g., "I enjoyed discussing ____ with you," if you legit

Oh man, working with people you like is an order of magnitude more important than doing the exact thing you like. I mean, YES, pursue your dreams, totally, but when push comes to shove, TAKE THE JOB WITH THE SMARTER/NICER/REASONABLE-ER PEOPLE. I was meh at first about the exact product my company creates, but after

Why yes, I am! That's part of why I can't find sundresses that are work length.

I don't feel appropriately covered in a sundress- I've not found any that look youthful enough without feeling naked, plus there's that whole gross sweaty-thighs-touching issue when you get into skirt territory. Do other people not have that problem?

No matter what I call them, I'm self-conscious about baring them (and honestly, about wearing a dress) working on a floor that is over 95% male. Stereotypical woman-in-tech situation all over this joint (Joint! Get it? Ankles are a joint... nevermind).

But...but...then my thighs touch and it's sweaty and groooooss, and then if I put on some kind of anti-thigh-touching garment, it's another layer of clothing, and also CANKLES, I HAVE THEM.

In winter, no prob. I look good.

It was my first real job in this industry after changing careers, and they were taking a bit of a chance hiring me with my teeny bit of experience. It should have been higher, yeah, but I see why they did what they did. The benefits have always been top-notch, it's not like I was in the poorhouse.

One of the reasons it would be damn hard to get me to leave my job:

In my dorm, there was a spare bed in one girl's room due to a roommate moving out , and she put a sign on it saying, "Sexiles Welcome." It was a lovely place to go when one was came home to the ol' sock on the doorknob.

Similar. I work for a medium sized tech start up... we get 12 weeks maternity + 1K, fully paid medical care (plus a donation into our HSA), gym and cell phone paid for, food provided, and a "no specific number of days, just be reasonable" vacation policy. Allegedly, we're looking to into childcare options.
