This is like a return to Jalopnik around 2006. Which is to say: well done. Awesome. Love everything about it.

I mean, it’s always been understood that saying ‘under $x’ means a tiny amount less than the round number.  There’s a psychological reason for it that’s come up in many marketing studies, although you’d think that would have dissipated by now since everyone’s inured to the idea that ‘under $x’ means ‘basically $x’.

It’s still two-dimensional.

Oh, great....here come the plane people...

Meanwhile, inside the patrol car...

The impound fee does sound dubaious...

But seriously, what is it with Western tourists doing stupid shit overseas?

The ball joints on the 2nd gen ram were utter crap. The oem ones on my buddy’s 2nd gen ram tow rig only made it just over a million miles. The passenger one on my ‘97 needed to be replaced at just before 250k. Unreliable junk.

Nextdoor: come for the racists, stay for the cheap Miatas

Forgetting who he is? He hasn’t exactly been just sitting around. He won his class at Pikes Peak two weeks ago.

Its worth mentioning that at many SCCA club races the tow truck is often just a truck from a local towing company that was contracted for the weekend. One shouldn’t assume the ambulance or wrecker drivers to have a whole lot of knowledge or situational awareness of what’s happening on the track.

RE: #2: I think everyone is ok with a “racing incident” if it occurs but dodging vehicles cutting across an active racing surface with no warning is not part of what they signed up for.

I just want those two cars to trade places next year and then I’ll be satisfied.

Let’s not forget the real key to unlocking power from an M4.

One change I’d like to see for 2019 is a Miata RF-lite of the sorts. Keep the lines and the targa of an RF, but fix the rear section and remove the power folding targa top. A targa top that you have to remove yourself and stow away in a spot in the trunk would be better, imo. I’m not sure of how much the mechanical

That’s what Toyota said.

This is how truck prices should be because over the last several years truck prices have gotten stupid.

As someone who has experienced various McLaren traction control systems, this cars TC was definitely switched off.
