See, the problem isn't so much that they betrayed the original vision or soul of the franchise, it's that the first one was hilarious, dramatic, and had a compelling storyline that had an element of subtelty to it, whereas every one after that was the equivalent of an airhorn blasting in your face for 2 1/2 hours.
Nause

You realize this movie comes out in China in like, 4 days, right?

Wayyyy too much derp in your reply to even follow you down that rabbit hole.
Your primary mistake is believing that there is "victory" to be had here. I was not attempting to declare victory in any way but rather point out what you were clearly missing about the militarization of our police force.
You seemed to think

Oh you're a riot.
Here, let me walk you through it with baby steps.
Police force aggression is a real, serious and growing problem in the US. They have been consistently overstepping their boundaries and legal authorities in many ways which have been well-documented over the last 5-10 years. It is a very alarming trend

Firstly, you're taking this vague, generalized sense of "fear" that police feel as a justification for this alarming trend. "OMG people shot at the police!" Yeah, welcome to every year in every country, ever.
You truly can't see what a slippery slope this represents?
Secondly, you cherry-picked one of the articles that

Oh, oh right, it's *me* that's in denial. And, you know, all of the media outlets I linked to explaining in GREAT DETAIL why and how the police force is becoming over-militarized, why that's a bad thing and what the dangers are.
But sure. Keep it up, champ.

With all due respect, idiotic replies like yours are part of the reason that agencies like the CIA know for a fact they can get away with shit like this. I'm not paranoid in the least. I have however followed the actions of our military industrial complex for many years and anyone who even gives a passing look at

This is good shit. Thanks for this.

I've said it for the last several Battlefield games, and I guess I'll be saying it again - I think this franchise is the CIA's way of attempting to affect "the youth" into accepting certain ideas, and plant certain attitudes about the world, the military, the Unites States and our "ambitions" into our minds.
You think

Am I the only one who just can't get excited over this game?
It kinda seems like balls.

Yessssssss I knew that having never played this game would eventually pay off! Now I get to play it for the very first time on PS4, muthfukkazzzzzz!!!!

Trolololol joo so funnee

The only alternative to 65 years in prison is..... no punishment at all?
Right, clearly that's what I was saying. Obviously I was imply they should be let free with a lollipop and a pat on the head.
What sort of dark basement do you people crawl out of to make logically sloppy statements like this?

Yes, if only we lived in a wild west of vigilante justice, I'm sure society would turn out just fine. What are you, like 10?

The point here isn't just whether or not they "knew the difference". Everyone's getting hung up on that fact, when there are other important factors to take into account here, such as apparent mental illness. Look, I did stupid shit at age 17 that I would NEVER dream of today, and if I saw someone doing those things

Nope, you're right. And I really like physical copies as well, you just can't beat em! Portable, rentable, and loanable to friends :)
Plus you have that actual sense of 'ownership' which isn't quite there with digital downloads.

Well, they're heading that way, what with digital downloads and all - they load off the HDD rather than a disc which is, well, much more similar to a cartridge, right?

Yeah, and isn't it the same for PS4? Doesn't it download updates IN standby mode, silently and without booting up? I'm pretty sure I've never seen my PS4 boot itself up, yet when I turn it on, it informs me of new things it has downloaded...?

And then what does that make you for assuming what "I think" without any indication that I do, in fact, think that?
