:D This time around, I'm going to work on creating Atlantis. Stupid Kobolds won't be able to get into an underwater city protected by a dome of glass. I can't think of anything that could go wrong at all and I'm sure there will be no drownings as a consequence of this project.

Well, there's always this:

*needs citation* :) (Actually, seriously... do you have a source? I'd be interested)

My first reaction to seeing this: "Haven't I already seen this before?"
My second reaction: "WAIT! Am I missing a Steam Sale! Oh no!" frantically opens Steam
My third reaction: "Oh. Okay. Yeah. Old Article." Sees large backlog of games in Steam Library "Drat."

*laughs* Can't argue with that.

Many people don't have a choice. Look at California's Central Valley, which is/was the place with the highest forclosure rates in the nation. Many of the people living in those communities actually worked in the Bay Area, about 70-110 miles away, depending on location. They didn't do it because they wanted to, they

Yeah. Not the worst game I've ever played, by far, but certainly the biggest disappointment. SUCH promise, and we ended up getting a barely-challenging cartoon wrapped around some really nice creation tools.

As far as I know, ESRB ratings and reviews aren't devoid of game maker/publisher feedback. Its not as if the ESRB released the ratings without even telling the creators what it was ahead of time.

5 years ago? Do you mean the UFO: Aftermath series or the UFO: Extraterrestrials game? Both of those were, in my opinion, disastrous.

I tried the spreadsheet method for several years, but always gave up after a few months. Trying to keep track of individual purchases and correlate them to categories got more and more tiresome as time went on, and, as Shawmutt said, once you got behind... you were doomed.

I did the same thing... although I did it after april when I had more taxes than anticipated and had a brief scare regarding my finances. Its been amazing how much more money I've been able to save just by being aware of how much I was spending a month for various things.

Except that at the time of Christ, Frankincense and myrrh were each far more valuable than gold. Its a misconception to think that only one of the three gifts was valuable (beyond the symbolic nature of all three, but we'll ignore that for now) because in modern times, we only value one of them.

Yeah, I explicitly avoid any facebook connected comment system. Facebook already knows too much about me :D

I'm playing... and I've never had a lack of players to play with me.

X-Com: Enemy Unknown

You know, this is as good a place as any to ask...

+1 for Bob Woodward reference. Made me chuckle :)

I know that a guy that has (in your opinion) made some of the greatest games ever is making a new game in which a female 'warrior' character is portrayed in the same way that many other games choose to portray them: with as little clothes as possible. Is he doing it to dramatically subvert the convention somehow?

We know things. We know that she is running around sniping people... wearing basically no clothes (and the clothes she is wearing is basically sexy undergarments). Why is this happening? We don't know, exactly, but there are really only a few explanations, none of which are at all worthy of praise to me, as they
