For all I know, "Abilene Clark" could've been fleshed out in the movie (I haven't, nor will I ever, see it), the book portrayed her as nothing more than a simple Mammy type whose sole purpose was to soothe the white main character's guilt. If the movie version of that character was as trifling as the book version

I visited Toronto for the first time four years ago and was so hyped to see the MuchMusic building (since I remembered watching the channel as a kid) and was so disappointed to see how sad and desolate it looked on the corner.

I remember hearing about the Tichina Arnold movie years ago and got the impression that it was supposed to get a (limited) theatrical release. Then...nothing. Last I heard of it, it was airing on TV One, but I hadn't gotten to set it on my DVR on time to record it.

Add the fact that he is one of my favorite divas of all time and I'm right with you in choosing his party over hers.
