Agreed, hence my hesitation that I mentioned. I was always taught to never down shift into first unless stopped or slowly rolling. Is it okay for newer more robust transmissions? I have no idea...but he had no problem with it and so I had some fun.

Negative. When he told me to downshift (w/ rev matching on) I hesitated because I couldn't imagine downshifting at that speed. He assured me it was okay, the throttle blipped, maybe 5k rpms - I punched the throttle to just below redline and it lurched forward like it was shot out of a cannon

My girlfriends father has one in metallic gray...I've been lucky enough to take it around town twice. It definitely gets the blood flowing....rev match downshift at about 30mph from 2nd to 1st then punch it and it feels like you're strapped to a rocket
