Estate sale after the old geezers die.

GenXers are getting in their 40's right now, many are gainfully employed, and hence why cars like the E30 M3, Integra Type R, and Supra have EXPLODED in value.  This is absolutely the market they want to be in.

Some of us Millennial’s have been watching this for a while now. I’m in a position where I could afford this, and at a point in my life where practicality isn’t a necessity at all. I won’t buy one the first model year (done that twice with very citrus-y results), but when the 2021's start hitting, I’ll be in the

If you have 100k in student debt you did it wrong. You deserve all your pain and suffering at that point.

Of course you can’t afford it yet. But once you’ve paid off your house and put your kids through college you’ll finally have the disposable income to buy your mid-engined Vette. Unfortunately, GM will decide that it will now be an AWD electric 4-door Panamera, and nobody makes anything like the car you’ve been

I know you’re used to everything in life going the way you wanted, and not having that happen is a new experience for you, so I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Workplaceburner below is probably more correct when s(he) says that I’m more afraid of gas just not being easily and reliably available rather than outright banned. There is no question it will be largely supplanted (although ofcourse 10,20,30, or 40 years is uncertain) or that it should be thus since electric is far

So do you immediately change out tires on every car you buy, including brand new cars? No way you’re taking delivery of a brand new car with zero on the odo.

I agree with everything you said, I just don’t like the “future owner” part. Who cares about future owners? He’s had a car for 47 years. It’s his car and he’ll probably enjoys it till he dies. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t give a shit about resale value.

This has been coming up more and more, and I understand the frustration, but I also don’t think you have too much to worry about.

Nice, but he says he only drives it a few times a year. It would be more interesting if he drove it say, every two weeks (summer) for grocery shopping or whatever.

“Don’t need a radio; doesn’t work anyway”
*editor shoves in some loud ear-rape music to cover the sound of the car*

Something about the FSJ front clip will always get my attention. I’ll always prefer the Rhino grille, but I’m fairly flexible on that.

I love overlanding rigs. I couldn’t give two shits about “real” offroading, but I like the idea of a rugged camper that can go a bit further off the path than the lot at your local KOA.

OMG~! It’s so beautif.... Wait that’s a Corvette? It sucks.

That’s true, but the guys in that age bracket grew up with the Vette and probably wanted one for a long time but couldn’t afford it until their kids grew up and moved out.

Because they fit well and consistently, and once you have a model number, you can just order replacements online with confidence they will fit?

I get that old people buy them but thats the general demographic for any expensive car. If I had the money right now I would 100% have a new Corvette in the garage.

Yep, it was Dad’s ride. Cliff at Pennock’s gave me Dad’s old handle so when you see California Kid post now it’s me.

I’m inclined to think that he felt it move when he tugged, and then decided he wasn’t worthy by himself. That’s just how I read the scene, though.
