Until we get the balls to employ stricter driving tests that need to be repeated every x years, or better educating our people to not be complete clots, I see this as a necessary evil.

@Taylor Alexander: I don't think a $45k ultra lightweight bike made of a material that cannot break down and cannot be recycled really fits into the "everybody should commute on bicycles" equation. If someone made a $45 aluminum or steel bike (or bamboo or...), then that argument would be valid.

Since it is already well covered by other readers, I will not touch upon the issue of the $xxxx = 30lb road bike.
