This is so dumb. GM knew the regulations, made a vehicle that didn’t fit within the definition and now are crying about it?

Ah, I think they go to the same Pep Boys that I do for their body accents.

I absolutely love Mcmansion Hell. Haven’t been there in quite a while. My wife and I try to spot the ‘features’ when we’re in neighborhoods with these abomintions.

So who do we have to bribe to get a boxy, solid axle SUV with a NP 231 transfer case and the new 3.0L I6? If bribery fails, I am willing to rough somebody up.

Cherokeeeeeeeeeeee

One of these days I should slap an ‘e’ on the end of my surname and try to con my way in to Harry’s garage.

It means you have to stay at larger hotels.

Buffalo wings and Garbage plates. Two true Upstate NY delicacies.

Hahahahaha. The silk robes bit killed me.

Whoa there pal. I absolutely NEED every car I own. I’ll break down the justification for you.

I’m in the same boat as you. My wife’s Focus is eventually going to need to be replaced because of the garbage DCT. I pretty much dread that even though we could buy a similar car with cash.

Being poor can lead to some good habits. I have no shame in driving a crappy beater and would rather do 90+ % of the work on my cars myself. Even though I could afford to finance or even outright buy a pretty decent new car myself, the newest car I own is a 2004 Jeep and I don’t see that changing for a while.

That’s insane... I don’t even like taking 4-5 year auto loans. That must be why I look at most trucks being completely unaffordable and wonder how folks are buying them.

The kind of folks who collect expensive toys as a flex usually don’t ever use more than one or two of them. Jerks like Tate give the rest of the gearheads a bad name.

So I came over from Jalopnik to read this article and now I learn that I’m a jerk! Don’t worry, I’m not offended and realize that you were not attacking me. Actually, a part of me judges people with high end cars as status-seeking jerks too. You should try owning a completely impractical, unreliable, but FUN second

The books are certainly ‘products of their time’. Quite a bit of classic British racism and sexism.

Agreed. Going to keep the cars running as long as I possibly can. New cars have gotten insane. I am glad I am handy and not picky about my D.D.

Saudi Arabia may not be the best comparison. It does show that you can do amazing things with absolute power and no regard for human rights.

Well, that’s not very good for job security.

This is the correct way to shop for tires.
