I saw a sheet of corrugated steel roofing come off a trailer on the QEW highway. I was riding a motorcycle. Thoughts of decapitation went through my head. I pulled over and helped the guy get it back on his trailer. Turns out Wal-Mart bungee straps aren’t the best choice for highway use.

Interesting. I would imagine the DOE being pretty picky about nationality.

Oh, I am 100% sure the builder would NEVER have taken the contract if they didn’t have the proper permits and agreements. Of course, Rich Folks Bad is the official line.

Citizen of South Africa, Canada, and US.

I mean the government could have just said no when the ship builder asked them for permission to take the bridge apart. Then the shipbuilders would have had to find an alternative.

Let’s get a screenplay together and send it over to Barbara Broccoli.

Fascinating. The company I work for actually manufactures DEF, amongst other chemicals. There has been an acute shortage of urea lately (and price has gone from $300/ton to $900/ton). If that trend continues, truckers might be filling their DEF tanks with cow piss.

And the best way to live forever is to just not die.

Probably a dumb question, but how would water in Diesel be helpful? Is it for cooling the charged air?

I D.D. a 2019 WRX, 2.0 L, 6MT. From August 2019 (when purchased) to August 2021, the Average MPG thingy said I was getting 8.8l/100km (~27 mpg). At this time, my commute was all city driving. In 2021, I moved to a more rural setting and now drive country roads with 80 km/h (50 mph) speed limits and only a few stop

And, of course, people sometimes have to strap non-magnetic things down. Lumber comes to mind.

Now playing

Even cooler is aluminum/gallium alloying.

Certainly better than the 007 hp version that was originally planned.

Any truck under $20k in Canada is 10 years old and beat to hell. I would not want to be shopping right now.

My wife makes fun of me for this all the time. I will sit there reading a manual for every stupid thing I buy before I even touch it. Then I have a cabinet with every manual in it. Probably a few for things I no longer own.

I don’t think he couldn’t find it, just that he didn’t bother to try. Seems like the owner was lazy and wants the warranty to cover it.

Maybe his plan was to lose out one some oil change money and then make bank when something bigger failed. Playing the long game...

Would Elon being at that meeting have helped Tesla at all? It seems that it was just a circle jerk with no actual business getting done.

Wasn’t the Dongfeng Hummer clone originally called the ‘Crazy Soldier’? They need to bring that back. Or possibly something along the same theme like the ‘Mad Commando’ or the ‘Lunatic Lieutenant’.
