for giving us one of the most boundlessly inventive recording artists in modern music?
There's one rather obvious difference.
Obama be all like:
I hope the First Lady's awesomeness is so well-established that she's all like:
I don't normally watch skating but I happened to catch this one and I friggin' loved every minute of it. That creepily perfect, almost robotic Russian 15 year old emotionlessly destroying all her competition? Awesome. The much older (and unfortunately horsetoothed) Italian girl who had been to the Olympics multiple…
NBC and the corporate sponsors have to pick their horses ahead of the Olympics in order to create narratives and pass out cash and film commercials. Unless they were the clear favorites going in, Kwan and Yamaguchi didn't get any love from the networks and corporations until after they'd won. With no clear favorites…
I would wager that her blonde marketability had more to do with it, considering the way NBC and every other commercial last night were fluffing her. Her sponsors wanted their ROI, and if one little Asian girl had to suffer, who'd notice?

Judgmental finger pointing lady is awesome.
Despite not being in any sort of physical danger, Zimmerman still plans to shoot DMX.
"There were black people in Medieval Europe. Full stop."
It's funny (as in, not funny) because I was pretty inclined to believe it was just really horrible unconscious oversight up until this whole non-sense apology. That line was one of the scale tippers for me. Just...suuuuuure Elle. Of course. /sarcasm
I want to recommend your comment but you are at 69 right now, and knowing James Brown he doesn't want anything but 69.
The only comment I will leave is this—"[people on this thread seem to be under the impression that black people] [...] didn't exist until James brown first coalesced from the Funkuverse in 1963"
There's really no need to "play devil's advocate" here.
She's black. That caveats her beauty. This is the problem. Her blackness automatically negates her "conventional beauty" because of the way society is set up. Ask every woman who's ever been told she was "pretty for a black girl."
Is it me, or does it seem like GL's dialogue belong to the Flash?
