That’s a bit of a hard sell in that price range. I’m a HUGE fan of EVs, but you can get a lot of car for $36k if you look at other vehicles. Even plug-in hybrids that typically provide enough range to stay off gas for a daily commute ring in much cheaper.

Literally all they have to do to make a $35k version is drop the premium interior package. If they don’t offer it then it’s just because they want to make the higher margins on the expensive interior package options.
