Obviously it doesn't excuse ANY kind of racism. I would say that if you were from the South, wouldn't you know that many, many Southerners are NOT racist? Your "stop fucking it up for the rest of us" comment threw me because it insinuates that you do indeed believe most of us are racist shitbags fucking up the

As you can imagine, there is more to the south than just "fucking it up" for the rest of the wholesome, excellent country. If you want we can start with the post-apocalyptic state the south was left in after the civil war (seriously, look up pictures of Atlanta after the war, it looks like an atomic bomb went off),

Oh my gosh I totes know what you mean. It is a 100% FACT that there has never ONCE been anything racist ever happen at a Small Liberal Arts College in The North. That's why when you look up the civil rights movement you see sorority sisters from Wesleyan or wherever the fuck you're from. Right.

One of my Asian friends (who ended up in my sorority) said at another sorority she expressed concern to someone she knew about being a minority there and the girl, I shit you not, said "Oh we're very diverse, we have blonde AND brunette girls!" When she told me I was like "WTF" because seriously "WTF" but also her

Let me guess. You are from East Cobb/North Fulton. You were born in Jersey or PA. Or maybe Ohio.

There are a few things in your post that offend me. Let's make a list.

FWIW, I know you are getting a lot of heat, and I think the issue is that no matter who did this act, it was done out of racism. Now, I understand your point — that it wasn't the alums, or at least it would be really hard for them to do that — so someone is lying because the story does not add up. I know something

One word.........................

Maybe they weren't "mixed" (racially) because your big liberal Northern school failed you?

Non-white students can join traditionally AA or POC greek organizations.... there was a white guy in Phi Beta Sig at my school and a white girl in Lambda Theta Alpha. I think the exclusivity is more tradition and intent, but technically it's "allowed." (Kind of like AA or POC joining these "white" greek orgs.)

I'm so sorry. These and all the other women on this thread break my heart. I'm thankful my first and other men were so kind because it shocks me to know there are men like this. I am so glad you've been able to recover and I'm not really sure how to say that I'm just proud and happy for you (and all these other women).

This is just like so many of my friends' stories.... :(

I had absolutely the most boring the well adjusted first time EVER.

We really need a more recent pic of Gucci to get the full effect.

I think that makes sense. You love and miss your friends - it's totally normal. When I was traveling I was so sad and homesick and I remember writing in my journal that I felt stupid for it because I should be enjoying where I was at. I eventually realized 1. I WAS enjoying myself, 2. missing people is normal, and 3.

It's possible to have two pregnancy scares... I hope that it's not real because this would suck, but it can happen.

So, so sorry to hear this. Many hugs to you.

Livemocha.com!!! There are lessons similar to Rosetta Stone, but they have writing, listening, and speaking components. The best part is that it is a barter type of system. You can "earn" beans by evaluating the lessons of people learning English and this way you have beans to buy lessons. Other people are earning

I'm going to South America this winter. Meeting up with a friend in Peru and going to Machu Picchu, Salar de Uyuni, Buenos Aires, Rio, Salvador, and everything in between. Traveling across the continent and then up the coast. It's going to be amazing!
