Yeah, this movie (based on a relatively well-regarded book) was derailed by Chase from the beginning. William Goldman was going to be the screenwriter, with (I think) Ivan Reitman directing. But Chevy kept trying to “fix” what Goldman was doing with the script, and, being the star, was listened to more than the

Even without him specifically stating it wasn’t Neill, Carpenter obviously wasn’t going to work with him again one movie later in the (waaaaaay superior) In the Mouth of Madness if working with Neill made Carpenter want to quit the business.

The correct answer is The Tipping Point by Tears for Fears.

I was coming here for this...these people must be too young for Laverne and Shirley!

A television show from the 1970's that celebrated 1950's nostalgia knew that milk and Pepsi has been around for a very long time. Darn kids on the interwebs think they thought of everything.

How is this not a slide show? Thx Takeout for not subjecting us to nonsense.

The increase in the use of robotics across the spectrum of work isn’t surprising.

Step up to the counter. State your order. Put your money on the counter. Step to the left to receive your order.

Speculate all you like. If Bros has a solid ROI, there’ll be more. If it tanks, studios will over-correct and say ‘gay romcoms lose money’.

I also like Hours.  It’s definitely a curve-ball, though.  It’s enjoyable but I can see why it doesn’t catch any attention.

Not remotely surprised to see Ziggy at #1. It’s a great album, but I don’t think it’s his best.

Heathen and Earthling absolutely should’ve been here instead of the two live / session records.

Yes, it was not like his normal shtick. It’s almost like when David Lynch made “Straight Story” or if Gaspar Noe made a heartwarming family film about kids renting an RV and driving through Canada to find Santa Claus.

It’s people trying to sell stuff to us GenXers.  Don’t worry, we’re still apathetic and haven’t sold out...much.

Oh, this is too bad. I haven’t read everything by Straub but man, sometimes he was amazing. Ghost Story was wonderful (the movie was a jump-scare piece of junk with a decent cast, but...). I loved Floating Dragon and Shadowland a lot, and Koko and Mystery too.

“…a lengthy Pitchfork report on the accusations saying that the accusers had “sexual interactions with Butler that they came to feel were inappropriate given the gaps in age, power dynamics, and context in which they occurred.”

The low key funniest part for me is that he reaches for the asparagus (a thing that is always spendy out of season) for a crudités. Barring the very tenderest early season asparagus (not available in August), you will always want to blanch asparagus for your veggie tray at which point it no longer counts as crudités,

I live with someone with Celiac. So gluten is a problem. And Ore Ida is the only brand on the list (that I see in my stores) that says it is gluten free. I wrote Alexia since none of the ingredients appear to have gluten, but no response.

I’ll put in plugs for the new Craig Finn, Soccer Mommy, Tomberlin and fanclubwallet albums.
