An early example of this was when Taxi (which had a great cast, including Judd Hirsch, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd and Andy Kaufmann) was cancelled by ABC and then picked up immediately by NBC. The cast did a series of promos leading up to the premiere, and I’ll never forget how DeVito, in character, gave the

Just a quick FYI--the photo of Mia Goth is from Pearl, not X (same universe, different character--and arguably the better movie).

If that’s happening, it means that the store isn’t calibrating its fountains often enough. When I worked at McDs in the ‘80s, calibration got checked and adjusted at least once a week, usually more often.

I remember an article about this in Premiere or one of those magazines--one of the meetings where Chase was haranguing Goldman about something or other, Goldman finally had enough and said something like ‘F--k you, Chevy. I’m too old and too rich to be bothered by your crap.’

It’s just the same as Dr. Oz and his crudite video. It’s designed deliberately to panic people about inflation. Note that it’s on Fox Business, the far-right-but-not-completely-crazy arm of Fox News.

2016 was, as Chuck Prophet puts it, “A Bad Year for Rock n Roll.”

Point of order on Adrian Belew—he wouldn’t join King Crimson until 1981. He came onto the national scene in Frank Zappa’s band in 1977, and then joined Bowie for a tour. After that tour, Bowie made Lodger, with Belew on guitar.

ISHTAR: “Tellin’ the truth can be dangerous business/Honest and popular don’t go hand in hand/If you admit you can play the accordion/No one’ll hire you in a rock’n’roll band.”

Fun Fact: In addition to co-writing the script. Raimi was the second unit director on Hudsucker.

I’m just going to pretend that the penultimate episode was the series finale. Eventually, I’ll convince myself of it.

I think DC should just roll with the multiverse, and make movies that best fit the characters without trying to meld them into one big story. The MCU, as awesome as it often is, is a fluke, the exception that proves the rule.

I just watched ‘Garth Merenghi’s Dark Place’ on Prime...Ayode co-created and co-stars with Matt Berry, Matthew Holness, and Alice Lowe. It’s a wonderful send-up of 70s-80s era BBC productions...bad production values, bad acting, the works. (I know that some of those productions were really, really good, so don’t @ me.)

Not about food, but about Colin Hay...he’s carved out a really good John Hiatt-level career, putting out a new album every couple of years and touring behind it. I saw him a little over a month ago, and the show was excellent. It’s about 40% Men at Work stuff, but there’s no difference in the quality of songwriting

Stop giving Taco Bell ideas.

And if they prove truly popular, the market price will skyrocket (like wings before them), and cash-strapped people will be robbed of one of the few healthy meats that are currently available to them.

People dying in an old folk’s home? I’ll take Bubba Ho-Tep for $2000, Alex (RIP).

Cracked did a really good After Hours about just that.

Now, that’s a tender subject.

I don’t know. I only brush once, in the morning, floss as needed and use mouthwash 2-3 times a day, including just before bed. I’m nearly 53, have regular checkups and cleanings, and have never had a cavity.
