I agree. I think Paramount+ is trying to expand its original content to bring new viewers into the fold. Let’s face it, with the exception of The Good Fight, the only breakout series over there have been Star Trek-related.

I don’t know. I only brush once, in the morning, floss as needed and use mouthwash 2-3 times a day, including just before bed. I’m nearly 53, have regular checkups and cleanings, and have never had a cavity.

Go read Shadowland, if you can find it. It’s long since out of print, and would make an amazing 8-10 part series. I can’t make you like Straub, but your characterization of his writing indicates to me that you haven’t read much.

Well, at least he used ‘Time’. I was sure that if Snyder used Tom Waits for this, he would have chosen ‘The Earth Dies Screaming.’ So is there hope? Or just another case of Snyder fundamentally misunderstanding a song?

Kornacki’s awesome. I’ve been a fan since a couple of elections ago (I don’t remember the exact year), and he wasn’t just talking about counties in Pennsylvania, he was talking about neighborhoods. This guy knows his stuff.

Angel was pretty much my only ‘appointment TV show’ that year, so I understand completely. I do have to grudgingly admit, though, that it boasts one of the most tender, rip-your-heart-out emotional moments I’ve ever seen in a series: “Would you like me to lie to you now?”

Told ya I’d forgotten one. Thanks.

One of the things I’ve loved about the Arrowverse (and to a lesser extent, other DC shows) is their legacy casting. Supergirl alone cast Helen Slater, Dean Cain, Jon Cryer, Carl Lumbly, Teri Hatcher, and probably someone I’m missing, all of whom had an impact on some earlier version of live action or animated DC

I really liked The Endless, which I think is their most recent release (until now, of course). I think it’s still on Netflix.

Thank you!

It’s appropriate. Thanks so much!

Thank you!

I agree completely. Not that I’ll ever be on a talk show of any kind (except maybe the one in Rupert Pupkin’s basement), but I drank heavily for 30 years, and my first year of sobriety quietly passed without fanfare a week ago (after countless attempts to stop over the past 15 years or so). If some one became insistent

As far as the original content on DC Universe goes, I really like it. Well, most of it. I’m fine if they want to premiere everything over on HBO Max, but why not throw us a bone over at DCU and send it over there after the season finale, like they’re doing with Netflix?

Agreed. He did the cold vocal opening on his first three albums, although by Armed Forces, it was just the first word.

Addendum--it’s actually the first 13 seconds. My apologies.

The opening of Elvis Costello’s first album, My Aim is True. ‘Welcome to the Working Week.’ The lone vocal that speeds up and crescendos (an early Costello trademark, to be sure) grabs you by the teenage angst and doesn’t let go. ‘Now that you’re picture’s in the paper being rhythmically admired/And you can have

Civ3 and 4 had the cultural thing. Nothing was more satisfying than when a rival nation’s border city flipped over to me. It’s probably the mechanic I missed the most in 5 (haven’t played 6 yet).
