Most of these folks are, indeed, just stupid. But the cappucino lady and the ketchup lady are just plain awful human beings. I pity their families, their coworkers, and anyone else who is unfortunate enough to come in contact with them.

Atticus Finch is Harper Lee’s intellectual property. She has the right to do whatever she likes with him. All the flap over this aspect of the book is just the literary equivalent of “George Lucas raped my childhood.”

I was one of the backers, at the $250 level. First of all, props to Cryptozooic for taking a hit and sending out games to backers. However, the upshot of this is that I no longer back anything that’s not coming from someone with a solid track record. I know I’ll never see my money or the promised perks, and all that

I know someone’s probably already said this, but I’ve never considered Kirk Langstrom a villain. He’s a conflicted man who’s done some bad things while trapped in his Man-Bat form. I see him as one of the great tragic adversaries of Batman.

Fair enough. But in the absence of more evidence, I’m staying with sad for now. Excellent point, though.

I agree completely.

I actually felt sorry for the poor schmuck. It must have been torture for all involved, especially once he figured it out. To carry a torch that long and not pick up on any clues, to remain so in the dark...it’s much more sad than disturbing.

As a high school teacher, I’ve got to say I’m appalled by that principal’s decision. And outing him to his parents? That is up to him, and him only. Evan Young is a class act, and Mr. Buchmann should be reprimanded by the superintendent for preventing Young from speaking.

You know, I was about to jump in with the shaming (although she should never teach again), which is ironic when you consider I was just finishing up Jon Ronson’s new book, So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed. She’s already been to prison, and no Board of Education in any state in the US will let her teach, as is the

@Carrie Halliwell—I've coached speech and debate, as well as drama...if one of my kids had done that, they'd be in deep shit. My kids understood that. Pity this coach's kids didn't. Even those kids should know better. On behalf of high school coaches everywhere, I'm glad you did what you did. The smart-ass

The problem is, since Citizen's United effectively ruled that corporations are people, the SC might have set a precedent that allows McD's to use the 14th Amendment in their lawsuit.

It's not just Alabama. There's a whole movement (and companies training educators) to do this if/when a gunman breaches your classroom. It goes hand in hand with the 'arming teachers' nonsense. I'm a teacher, and my district wants to do both. I think it's idiotic.

I've never had it, doubt I ever will, but I WOULD try it...I think. The cheese looks likes it's about to become sentient and attack someone's face....maybe Dan O'Bannon ordered some, thought the same thing, and wrote Alien.

Relax. Like all fashion, it will pass, and it'll be ok to wear them again without being called a hipster.

I'm not sure...it may have been more of a 'money for movie or dinner, but not both.' It sounds like something I may have thought about back when I was searching sofa cushions at the end of the month.

I'm telling you what a KFC manager told me in Korea. Not gonna fight about it.

'Zinger" refers to a spicy breading that uses Asian spices as opposed to the ones the spicy breading uses in the US. It's got a good flavor. Not sure if I'd eat this, though.

I remember that episode...little Timmy had just fallen down the bloody well again.

I've been teaching English for 15 years now, and although with there are elements that are true (finding your comfort zone with curriculum, etc), I am CONSTANTLY updating, tweaking, revamping, etc. The fact that I've put in so much work makes my palette that much broader in what's available to me. For our juniors,
