The budget concern is valid, and it may be that the A-10 is the best thing to cut . However, I highly doubt that. There are more useless things we could cut that we have NEVER used. The A-10, on the other hand, was used many times in a highly effective manner.

True, it is vulnerable to MANPADS but that hardly destroys its usefulness. It is well armored and is designed to last. But I'll give you that. There are, however, many advantages it possesses over typical fast fighter jets.

Yes. Tyler made a point recently that pretty soon we are going to be saying "imagine the F-22 with the F-35 avionics". However, the F-35's basic design compromises its fighting ability. Still, the F-35's avionics are nothing short of amazing.

I understand that the F-22 doesn't have the advanced avionics as the F-35 and that there are significant upgrades available. How much does this impact the capabilities of the F-22 and is it still fair to say it is the best fighter in the world?
